A coach of a private recruited up school. With private school money is talking about public schools using tax payers dollars need to travel. I'll tell you what get this coach to agree to pay for the entire cost of the trip. Everything air fare, room and meals. For the entire varsity team and their coaches. That's the entire varsity team that travels to any away game. For Euless Trinity we had 67 kids travel to Tyler this past Friday. Not sure about other teams. Anyway get him to agree to cover the entire cost and I'm more than positive he will get a few takers. Otherwise stfu there is no reason for any Texas team to travel anywhere just to lose money for a who's dick is bigger game.

Really? There is a question as to if the guy was even witness to what was said. That conceivably puts things into bullshit Russian dossier territory. I understand that DeMatha already lost to SJB, but I would think most people would be giving DeMatha some of the credit here, rather than saying Iggy is terrible or DeMatha hasn't played anybody or all these other teams are gonna beat them. DeMatha looked great and forced/took advantage of all Iggy's mistakes.

That night they weren't. Last year's MD was retooling from the previous year, and even though they beat IMG, they hadn't hit their stride at that point. SJB had a Pro level QB who had a phenomenal night and torched them. That game probably helped MD more than it hurt them. MD got much better down the stretch and the next time they played SJB, they made DJ look very pedestrian in trying to beat MD with his arm. I don't recall DV qb being a great passing qb, but more of a running qb, like Vince Young as some have said. IF DV has a passing attack like SJB, and a defense like SJB, than maybe they could beat MD. Maybe. This MD offense this season is way ahead of where they were last season at this point. That SFA defense was completely nasty. I can't imagine any team this season that could do what MD did to them. They methodically picked them apart despite a pass rush that was as good as any I have seen. SFA is head and shoulders above a team like an SJC. I can't see anyone else beating them, unless they have all phases at top notch level. DV and NS both had great talent, no doubt, but I just didn't see that same level of a coached up program like MD is But, as I have said, I haven't seen DV this season, only going off of last season. If they have gone to another level this season, than I could be wrong.

I am most familiar with Katy's situation so I'll explain why they don't travel. Katy is one team out of 7 ( next year 8 ) 6A schools in the Katy independent School District. I can tell you that those other schools in KISD are sick and tired of playing Katy every year and getting their ( sometimes very good ) football teams curb-stomped by the Tigers. Do you seriously think that any of those teams are going to say to KISD "Why sure, go right ahead and spend the district's money to send Katy to California or better yet, to Hawaii to play some team. So when exactly does Seven Lakes or Mayde Creek get to travel to Illinois to play somebody?"Cause the answer to that last question is "The twelfth of Never is when." It already ticks off all those other schools that the District has spent the money to send Katy to to a State Championship game 5 times in the last 10 years, let alone buying them tickets on some Jet Flight to Hawaii. There is a huge difference between being an alumni supported private school that offers scholarship's and can jet around the country playing teams, and being a Texas tax supported Public school. Katy isn't even the Rich Kid's school in the district. You ought to see Katy's indoor practice facility - it looks amazingly like the same kind of cow pasture that all the other district schools get to practice on.

I won't argue with you there, but I think even you would admit that MD and SJB are in a league of their own. The rest of California's top ten would actually look like they're playing the same game as the top teams from other "power" states.

Solid states........if you`er comparing....Ohio....IL....Tn......PA........Mi.........etc......Ohio would still be at the top......but they aren`t an elite level state any more....and haven`t been for about 5 years.Teams from WI......MN......Ne. don`t belong near any top 100 poll ever.......I think it was Prepforce that had Lakeville North,Mn. and Muskego Wi. in their top 5 regional poll that`s absurd......A realistic top 100 national poll would be 85% teams from Georgia.....California....Texas.......Florida....with 1-2 teams from states like NJ....SJR......LA...John Curtis...Ohio..not sure which one or two......one from IL......one from MO.....maybe 2 this year......Cardinal Ritter and DesMet Jesuit......and that`s about it.
