This is true....I heard it from a Dad whose son got a call.....I will not name the school but you can take a train and its 2 miles from NYC......

Who on here from SJR has said anything as it pertains to this search other than me.....I am aware of the process and what we are looking for....if a kid leaves bc Augie left then,,, honestly shame on the kid and or parents....Minus the HC currently ....the returning roster would be  one of the favorites to win G4 next year...and the rising seniors are a special class.....so chillax...I will offer as much info as I am allowed to  on this topic.......VIR FIDELIS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grabbing my morning coffee about 2 min away from SJR and ran into a current Jr on the team. We started talking and the kid could not be more impressive.  Mature, humble. Waiting to see how it all plays out and hopes it’s one of the coordinators but fully committed no matter what.  He made a positive impression on me

Joke the guys on staff now have been a major part of the success for years with Augie and with TK .  Joke to go outside. Patient ? kids already being called by other schools. Registration coming up ?  Please don't talk about outside Public school guys .  Real easy keep staff intact and move on.

Kids can attend PC for less than half that amount. It’s a tremendous bargain for those families that want a faith-based high school education for their children. I agree that the more expensive, all-male schools could definitely pose larger fiscal barriers for some.

I live in one of the highest taxed towns in BC with one of the most reputable, blue ribbon public high schools in the state. I paid full tuition at DBP for all four years and we wouldn’t change a thing. There’s a marked difference in the True Gentlemen that those schools produce. It’s evident each and every day. If you want the Church to be a vital part of your kid’s life forever, there’s no better way to guarantee it.

Right there with you.  My son and us parents wouldn’t change his HS choice if we could go back. Yes I paid 2x between prop taxes and tuition. But, 2 years into undergrad and he’s  still  reaping the benefits.  And for us old guys, 2030 will be here in what feels like the blink of an eye

PC is the largest Catholic, co-ed high school in NJ. It ain’t going anywhere. They’ll always be a demand.

For grins, I’ll  bet you steak dinner it’s gone by 2030. Demand for parochial education has been waning.  Is DePaul cash flow positive?  What is PC’s financial situation? There will always be a place for single sex school options. I look at the LI schools and the coed ones seem to be getting hit pretty hard in the last decade

Coach Hansen, congrats on your win, but you sound like a total ass clown here.

Your school is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) and most storied Catholic prep schools in the state.  Your endowment is probably the largest (SHP and Bosco are probably your only competitors).  Your program is based out of a brand new, state-of-the-art, multimillion dollar athletic center.  Your school is located in arguably one of the hottest real estate markets in NJ if not the northeast.

    Get over your f’in self.

Edit: SJ Fanboy did remind me of Delbarton, which may be the richest out of all of them.

Most notably, he wanted no part of having to play more than one of the Bergen County “silver spoons” in win and advance tourney

a lot of very good points

Bosco, as best as I can tell, is not 100% into recruitment.  So, no one can't characterize the next 10 yrs accurately, but i suspect that they'll keep coming up short with some bad seasons in b/w

The recipe for most seems to be grab some 5 stars, and get hired by a college who thinks the 5 stars will follow you

Bosco and BC will continue to get their share of kids who want to go to those schools while Auggie will continue to wheel and deal.  Competition among the 3 will almost always remain present.  SPP will continue to get more than their share of athletes from JC/Newark/Elizabeth areas.  The real question is how long PC and DePaul can hang around as teams and, more existentially, as schools

In the big scheme of things, shouldn't the school with 500 more boys win these games most of the time?

That requires a pretty big assumption about the student body.  If both schools had pre-determined districts, then yes.  But boys choose to attend these schools.  Some for football. Others for different reasons.  I would venture to guess SJR brought in more “talented” football players in the last 4 years. But it was decided on the field. 2x. Both in Montvale. And the Ironmen showed well. I think Sabella will be a force to deal with in the old Big North

So they were unbeaten, and really unchallenged, for 2 straight years on freshman level? That's interesting, especially since we know now they had a bunch on varsity and because of how much we heard about the bosco and joes groups last summer. I do know last year they were loaded and guys like Gould and Butler didn't play a snap of freshman football. Will be interesting moving forward.

Pressure may be on Vito to win a title in next two years

Never knew how good a runner he was. Very fast and a load to bring down. Impressive player.

A man among boys   And Zags O Line was in control.  After the blocked punt, Gonzaga’s O was on the field for almost the entirety of the 2nd half.  Game was over when Bosco had 3rd and half a yard and lined up in the shotgun.  If you can’t line up under center and will yourself to a half yard gain you’re done.  They lost 4 on that play and were toast

    Did he play any sports?

Rowed.  His boat  won a national championship junior year.  Now rowing in college, though his school’s program is not funded so technically not varsity. But they compete against some top tier varsity crews
