  1. Much-needed score by Cathedral with 17 seconds left in the half.
  2. Yeah, Aliquippa is pretty amazing. Played up three classes this year, lost to Thomas Jefferson in overtime in the WPIAL championship and TJ is probably going to win the state championship tomorrow. Southern Columbia is legit too. As I mentioned in the Ohio thread, it would be fun to see some small-school OOS games.
  3. Steel-High wins the 1A game 32-20, sealing it with a pick six in the last two minutes. Turned into an entertaining game after a slow start. Incredible play with about three minutes left. Jeannette inside their own 10, second and a mile. QB standing on the goal line in the shotgun, snap comes to him along the ground and rolls right past him. QB sprints back, grabs the ball just before it goes out the back of the end zone, and fires a mid-air pass like a guy saving a basketball from going out of bounds. Unfortunately the pass goes straight to a Steel-High defender, but two steps later a Jea
  4. Yeah, that's where Terrelle Pryor played. Either Jeannette or Clairton seems to be there every year.
  5. Jeannette is the Jayhawks and they wear Kansas colors...have to be pretty comfortable in your football abilities to do that. Inauspicious start to the 1A game as Steel-High fumbles twice on their first play, the second recovered by Jeannette, and then the Jayhawks throw an interception in their first play.
  6. Get up early on Black Friday to be first in line for your PCN subscription: https://pcntv.com/football/ Or don't, because there's no compelling marquee matchup this year. Friday 11:00 Class 1A: Steelton-Highspire (9-0) vs. Jeannette (10-1)--Both teams start freshman quarterbacks, although Jeannette's may be out injured. "Steel-High" is such a great name for a Pennsylvania school. 3:30 Class 3A: Central Valley (11-0) vs. Wyomissing (9-0)--Maybe the best matchup of the six, Central Valley lost in last year's final after leading by two touchdowns. Neither team has had a c
  7. Would love to see small school OOS games. Match one of these teams against Southern Columbia or Aliquippa.
  8. West Virginia Class AAA Quarterfinals this weekend: Three out of four games cancelled due to COVID is bad enough, but this is extra crazy because: 1. Whether a team is allowed to play depends on the COVID numbers in their county. 2. Martinsburg, Musselman, and Spring Mills are all in the same county. 3. Despite being in the same county, Musselman advanced due to COVID forfeit, while Martinsburg and Spring Mills were eliminated by forfeit. I think this somehow has to do with the opposing team's county's numbers. But WTF?
  9. SJP was up 51-7 after returning the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown. Pulled their starters, and with the running clock in effect Souderton scored four times to cut the margin to 51-36. With three minutes left it looked like Souderton had returned a fumble for a touchdown to make it a one-score game, but it was called back for a block in the back. Souderton ended up adding another score with three seconds left, but SJP recovered the onside kick as time expired. Don't think SJP ever put their starters back in the game.
  10. VICTORY FORMATION Probably too late to correct the GEICO snub but bring on Bismarck Century for a Dakotas title unification bout.
  11. Harrisburg TD pass called back for the QB being two yards past the line of scrimmage when he threw the ball and then an interception on the next play. BV should have it sewn up now,
  12. Johnson in for another touchdown. BV line has stepped up in the second half.
  13. Now this is what I came to see. Johnson up the middle nearly untouched for the 45-yard TD run, and then Kolbeck to Carroll for the two-point conversion.
  14. Kolbeck gets BV back on the scoreboard with a long TD run. Extra point bounces off the goalpost and out.
  15. Teams trade punts to start the second half. Harrisburg gets away with the punter probably having his knee on the ground while fielding a low snap.
  16. I didn't think so live. Couldn't tell from any of the replay angles.
  17. Harrisburg QB Knuth pushes his way into the end zone with 19 seconds left in the half to make it 14-14. Closer game than expected.
  18. Harrisburg gets to the BV 11 but passes are on broken up on third and fourth down. And then...HARRISBURG GETS A STOP! A THREE AND OUT! SIOUX FALLS BOOKIES GO BANKRUPT! Weak punt by BV, who hasn't punted in like three months, but great roll, and Harrisburg takes over just short of midfield.
  19. Kolbeck hits Carroll over the middle for an 18-yard TD strike on 4th and 6 on the first play of the second quarter. That is now 10 touchdowns on 10 possessions for BV against Harrisburg this year.
  20. Harrisburg works their way downfield with a couple big pass plays and then Teigen runs in for the TD on fourth and goal.
  21. Harrisburg fails to capitalize on a fumbled punt return, and BV marches down the field with BADLANDS BULLDOZER Tate Johnson running over a Harrisburg defender for a big gain and Joe Kolbeck running in for the score. Stream buffering like crazy for a minute, how many thousands of people have I inspired to watch this game?
  22. Stream: https://www.sdpb.org/live/ Never watched a South Dakota game before, but I called it back in August and tonight Brandon Valley becomes CHAMPIONSHIP VALLEY.
  23. More heartbreak this week: https://www.yorkdispatch.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2020/11/09/central-pa-school-forced-forfeit-district-3-football-final/6228281002/ https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/high-school-football/2020/11/13/central-catholic-mcdowell-piaa-football-playoffs-forfeit/stories/202011130158
  24. Thanks as always for putting this together. A few small corrections: --Warwick pulled out of the PA playoffs due to COVID: https://local21news.com/news/local/warwick-high-school-moves-to-virtual-learning-due-to-new-covid-19-cases --In WV, the GW @ Martinsburg game is Class AAA, and Spring Mills is at Parkersburg.
  25. Of the early 2000s Miami running backs he was the one smart enough to get his injuries out of the way in college.
