I always loved that man!  He may live on the beach in South Florida, but he damn sure knows Texas Football!!!!

And even the title of the article is incorrect.

This is what he actually said:

“I coached in college for about 25 years, so I recruited Texas and let me tell you, the best football players in the country — and I love the players in Florida and I love the players in California — but the best-coached players in the country are right here in Texas,” Johnson said. “Some of their high school programs, the stadiums, their facilities, they’re better than most small colleges.”

So Texas has the highest paid coaches and the best facilities.

Not Earth-shattering.

Dude spent all those years at Miami - got some of the best Florida has ever produced and still gives the nod to Texas Football!

Actually he didn't.

And nobody of any salience would say that because it's clear from history and evidence that Florida has better players than Texas.

What Texas has is coaching and facilities.

Any audit of great players, whether in high school college or pro, would result in Texas losing.

I saw that live and posted about that here.

Obviously a big part of the problem in getting to the truth is nonsense like this.

Bigger crowds and more expensive stadiums equal bigger crowds and more expensive stadiums. It's that simple.

FL and GA are so superior to TX in talent it's not even funny.

What matrix are you using,  HOF's, current NFL/College/High school would result in Texas Losing.  I will take up that challenge.

The best NFL players go to the HOF.  Care to compare the numbers and the Quality of those players.  How about Heisman winners, or position by position in the NFL.

You have 11 HOF's Texas have 30 not including  LT in the upcoming class. You loose greatly.  Our NFL Greats dwarf yours and they are Giants of the game.

Pick a position and tell my your All Time Great is better then Ours.  You have Deacon Jones (never won Shit)  We have Mean Jo Green and 3/4th of the Steel Curtain D-Line were Texans, Joe Green, Dwight White. and Ernie Holmes.   I got a lot of ammo for this one.  We destroy Fl with Heisman winners by State.  What is your matrix for us losing sir.   We don't just have Great Facilities.  We have great players.  What qb do you have better than Drew Brees? Pick the position of us losing at any level.

Good football players.

Whether it be high school, college or pro. I prefer to use college and pro metrics. Like the Draft, Pro Bowls, etc.

And Pennsylvania has 27.

Are they 4x better than Florida?

Of course not.

Florida is a young state. Their best years aren't even HOF eligible yet.

Silly argument.

Texas Universities have 1 national championship in the last 46 years.

Florida's have 11.

Texas gets a lot of play because they talk a lot about how great they are. It's largely a myth.

The best players become Heisman winners and HOF members.  You get smoked in both and will never catch up.

You been playing football for a long time as we. Yet you are known for great Running backs so do we.

You have Emmitt Smith in HOF Deacon Jones and Warren Sapp for DL.  Where are all those great players and why are they missing? It is no comparison at the college level either sir. It really isn't.  Your statement is full of State bravado without substance to back it up.  You have great Players but no better than Texas I will assure you.  In the past, Present or future.

Texas HOF RB's  you get killed

LT, ERIC Dickerson, Earl Campbell, Thurman Thomas, Doak Walker, Ollie Matson, Charley Taylor (WR too)

TEXAS HOF D-line You get killed

Strahan, Mean Joe Green, Bob Lilly, John Randle

DB's You get killed

WR's You get killed

Really no contest.

The last 6 Heisman winners have been 2 from each State. You will never catch Texas because we never stopped producing great talent.

Nice try you didn't just start playing freaking football in the 80's like you want us without knowledge to believe.  How young was Bob Hayes and Deacon Jones when they played 1982? :D I guess they played by themselves in the damn 50's.  Deacon Jones tackled himself and Bob Hayes threw his own bombs.  Florida had no other players in the 50's and 60's.  Revisionist History by LOS.  Texas smoked that ass in the 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's and right there now with high quality players.

No they don't. The Heisman? Please. It's a joke.

The HOF is for old players.

Florida is never going to win something like that (or at least it'll take a while).
