Ararar
Opposing coach not to happy about it Not everyone was enamored with Ball’s performance. Los Osos Coach Dave Smith called it “a joke.” He said Chino Hills players were fouling on purpose trying to prevent Los Osos from running out the clock and thus deny Ball more points. “That’s wrong,” Smith said. “It goes against everything CIF stands for. The Ball boys are very talented and great players, but it’s embarrassing to high school athletics. I’ve been coaching for 35 years, and we’ve turned high school athletics into individualism. “It’s amazing to watch a kid score that many points. But it’s tough to say that’s what CIF athletics is about.”

Mjd33
Just watched the highlights of game. Damn he was cherry picking all day! No defense played whatsoever. http://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/18643348/ucla-bruins-commit-lamelo-ball-brother-lonzo-ball-scores-92-high-school-game

legendsofthefall
I remember when Jersey schoolboy legend Dajuan Wagner scored 100 points and the controversy surrounding that game. What's ironic is another kid in Texas scored 101 on the same night. http://uk.complex.com/sports/2015/04/100-point-players

I had another post and realized I was talking about Milt Wagner who had a phenominal game against DeMatha in 1981. Milt is Dajuan's dad! I found this article on the internet and it discusses both Dajuan and his dad, Milt: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/229395771.html

That 1981 team was special. Then Wagner and Thompson went on to star at Louisville and help them win a national title. I didn't realize Clarence Turner recently passed. He was a very good coach and an interesting character to put it mildly.

Ararar
“My boys treat this game as entertainment because that’s all it is,” LaVar Ball said. “We’re going to entertain until the clock hits zero. If you pay $8 for a ticket, we’re not going to give you $7.50. I’ve had my boys playing like that since they were babies.” interesting that hat he says "we're" when talking about his boys. Coletrain06
Cherry picking all game with no defense. He missed 15 3's !?! Fouling the losing team, whom is just trying to run out the clock, in order to get Ball more points. The player clearly has talent, but I must agree with the opposing coach, this is a joke

He allows them to play 5 on 4 on defense(Which allows Ball to Cherry pick all game long) The Los Osos coach sounds like a trophy kid with his whining. If he didn't like what was going on, he should've started fouling LaMelo with guys on the bench hard. Chino Hills would've quickly subbed LaMelo had that happened

I'd have bullied the kid (the way you put it) if I was the los osos coach.
