5% would lead the FED to raise rates more aggressively despite the fact it would probably not be sustainable. The Goldilocks scenario would be between 3 and 3.5%. Not too hot, not too cold, good for stocks ...

Rooting on an economy that doesn't benefit most people? Wages stagnant still.

You clowns need to take a class on real economics. You literally vote against your own self interests. Its hysterical.

It certainly benefits hard-working Americans. I can understand why government-assistance (red state or blue star) dependent people and illegals would have a problem with the economy. My portfolio looks fantastic right now and I live in a beautiful city  There’s nothing stopping any motivated America-appreciating induciduals from enjoying the same. The left propaganda is fake news. I hope that you’re not condoning generation after generation of govt assistance families.

Your portfolio? Sure, investments look fine because of a bloated stock market. All mine are way up too. I am going to shift everything ultra conservative very soon. I suggest you do the same.

You failed to address my point- everyone is claiming economic victory without addressing the elephant in the room- stagnant wages..........still! Even after all the Trump corporate tax cuts, wages remain generally flat.

Yet, the economy is booming? That is a inflated pipe dream.

It has ZERO to do with Trump.

I am a realist and see the bloatedness of the economy and who it is truly benefiting, and who it will ultimately hurt in the near future.

Funny how under Obama, unemployment numbers were always "incorrect" and ALL positive economic data was "fake news!" All of a sudden, every Trumper thinks every positive economic number is now reflective of Trump and a win for America.

Hilarious!

Ok, let’s just say that you’re correct for argument sake. I am prepared to make adjustments as needed to retain my wealth. Everyone has that opportunity. Everyone. The elephant in the room is people sucking off of govt teet. Make your own wages. Don’t rely on the govt to increase your wage. There are more jobs right now than in the past 10 years. Real jobs not Jack in the Box jobs like Obama was “creating”. As long as we let illegals come in and set up shop, get used to that low wage. It NOT Trunps fault.

We have relied on the public sector for 30 years to increase wages and they haven't.

So what next? You keep touting how great the economy is. Why no wage increases?

In CA, it’s illegals. As you’ve said, and I agree, as long as the supply meets demand for them, businesses will keep hiring them. Thus keeping wages stagnant. Why raise wages when we have people who will actually work at poverty levels. CA leadership seems to be okay with this concept. And at the end of the day, wages don’t need to increase to have a booming economy. Get off the govt teet and get a real job and your wages will increase. Hard working people who thrive are thriving MORE right now.

Remember that quarter when GDP did hit 5.2?

Hmm. When was that? I think Obama was president but I can't remember for sure.

I wish that my memory was better. I bet these disingenuous assholes on here were shooting fireworks and starting umpteen threads with !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that many exclamation points at the end of the subject header and stuff. I just can't remember though.

I'm sure it happened though. Seeing as to how it's happening now at 4.1. Right?

That's why you have to lock up the business owners as well as the illegal

Wages DO need to increase for a REAL healthy economy. The economy is inflated and bloated right now. People are not making more money. They are spending more money. Que the bubble!

You’re stuck on wages. It’s not just about wages. This is just an easy excuse to blame the corporate machine. It’s about the creation of jobs, cost of living and inflation. If those are both kept in check, sudddnly your dollar goes farther no matter your wage. But as long we keep letting a millions of other country’s poor and uneducated people in the simple law of supply and demand take hold. Syria and Mexico’s doctors and rocket scientists aren’t the ones “seeking asylum”.

I guess we’ll see. It’s any easy statement to make. Every economy that has a high ceiling will come down at some point. But the hard-working individuals like you and me will be just fine. But in the meantime, if you hadn’t noticed, the economy is good.

Wait a minute. So wages haven't moved with inflation or cost of living in 30 years and it's not a big deal and not an economic issue?

Do you have any clue the amount of debt that middle class families are going into again because they simply must cant keep up? The costs of everything has skyrocketed and wages haven't moved.

Are you clueless?

I’m not saying wages shouldn’t go up. But they don’t have to go up to have a strong economy. Perhaps the prices of goods and services should go down. They certainly won’t in Ca, California is in a class of its own when comes to the cost of living discrepancy. The rich will pay too doaer for everything. All states have poor people. But the high to low income difference in those states isn’t as outrageous as Ca.
