NorCalRuss
So, I work in Sales for Kelloggs and we been told our entire DSD field is being let go. Basically they shutting down all 39 distribution centers in US, letting go all sales reps, every merchandiser in country and those jobs that support the above. This transformation will be complete nationwide by Aug 1 2017. My question is what would you do with 401K plan? Where's a good place to start for rollover info and with the possibility of large bonuses coming should I wait til terminated to roll over 401k? I know some of you give good advice on here from time to time and any lead in direction would be great to help me decide my options . concha
If part of the bonus will go into the 401k, wait and then when you leave roll the 401k over into something like a Schwab or Scottrade IRA. They will provide you with hugely greater investment flexibility than a corporate 401k.

DLS350
Let someone who really knows money and investing handle it. When I switched jobs, I gave a pretty good sum in a 403b to a financial adviser who works for Lincoln Financial. He diversified it into several different things. When someone who really knows this stuff starts talking to me, he might as well be speaking Chinese. All I know is he's making me money towards my retirement. When I make money, he makes money so it's in his best interest to do it right..
