I don't understand all the multiple logins.  I have a hard enough time keeping track of what I say under one login.  Having to track multiple logins would make this hard instead of a pleasurable pass time.

Dear member,

Despite the fact that we have already addressed this, I will nevertheless address it again for our slower members.  Please process your complaints against fellow posters through the proper channels.

A word of advice:  If you are growing weary of other posters besting you whilst jousting in the various threads, it would become you to retreat to your local regional board wherest you can hone your craft before wading into the National Board.

Posters Must:

a. Have an "A" game

b. Bring their "A" game

or they will be mocked by the Elite posters who are comfortable and can hold their own on a National Forum.

We value all members and it saddens us to see neophytes embarrass themselves and get mocked by the  pros.

Please consider another year as an apprentice on your local board.  We wish  you success there.

That's fair. My recollection is that that was on another site. If here and brought to our attention, we'd take action.

Prep -  as there are your guidelines....then they need to be enforced.  Private message is ok to the offender but if they get banned for whatever time....public shaming works as well.  Have a thread with banned members etc...there is too much BS on her, persona;l attacks etc.  There should be no tolerance for comments that go beyond the pale.  -  end transmission

  • No trolling. Don't make posts that are inflammatory just to get people riled up. Substance is the key to not being labeled a troll.
  • Attack the message, not the messenger. Criticize ideas, not people. Flaming will not be tolerated.
  • No member is allowed to engage in public personal attacks on any other member.
  • Personal attacks are defined as personal, racial, ethnic, and/or gender based insults, slurs, or derisive comments.
  • All complaints need to be communicated privately using either personal messages, "Report Post" feature, “Contact” and/or email.
  • In the event of a complaint, the moderator will evaluate the complaint against these rules. If the moderator finds the post(s) violates these rules, the offending post(s) will be edited or removed and the offending member warned/notified. An offending member shall receive no more than two (2) private warnings via personal messages and/or email, and one final Administrative warning.
  • If the efforts above are not successful to deter the behavior, the member will be banned for a week, and upon a repeat incident, banned permanently.
  • All we want is a little community kindness and no attacks. If we all work together to accomplish this, pointed football discussion can occur.
  • No pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or objectifying material. Simple rule; follow it. Administrator's judgment applies here. Sexually suggestive images will be heavily scrutinized. We'd like for our readers to be able to visit the site at work without fear of retribution.
  • Do not post links or requests for warez.
  • If you post something off-topic, please have the courtesy to note it in the thread title with “OT” or “Off-Topic”.
  • Respect the privacy of others. Do not post other's phone numbers, addresses, pictures, etc., without their permission.
  • Do not place foul language in thread subjects.
  • Restrict the use of excessive foul language in your posts. Remember, “swearing is a weak mind expressing itself”. Strive to find alternative words to relay your message.
  • And of course, NO SPAMMING. No commercial-oriented posts, and no flooding with useless content.

In conclusion, these Guidelines are fluid. Not making every concern a hard and fast rule means that the moderators can use their good judgment in moderation, and we think the results will speak for themselves.

Bottom line: we always give warnings (with the exception of unacceptable posts-sometimes we need to work fast), but we don't necessarily give them more than twice to the same person. If you are disrupting the community, we will take action.

It seems like I have tried various angles such as public "suggestion" and etc as you have mentioned.

I do believe that I personally have reached my tipping point with certain members and definitely with the racial and/or bigotted nonsense.

The rules have always been fluid, and for a good reason. We are all adults. We should understand without a mod coming in to "get on to us" that some things just shouldn't be done.

This community/group is pretty small as it is. If we take a zero tolerance on every rule in the guidelines, slowly but surely every one of us would be gone per ban. Almost every member has broken rules in that guideline list.

I have made some mistakes as mod for sure. I have let some guys go on too long and they've kept pressing until there has been pretty much no boundaries anymore.  Letting some members drag down the entire group with nonsense is over though. 80-90 percent of the turmoil and general bull on this site surrounds about 3 guys. I used to care if they stayed and participated or not. Those days have passed for me.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't. If we don't enforce the rules, people take advantage and those that are affected by people taking advantage lose interest in the site. If we enforce the rules, people get upset we don't apply them evenly or that it is too harsh. After reflection though, I agree with the last paragraph, we will need to ratchet up the moderation. Unfortunately, all will have to understand that sometimes the pendulum swings too far back to the other side. In the long run, it will be biscuits and gravy, but @HawgGoneIt and I will have to grit our teeth through the din of the table bangers.

Of course everyone has broken rules but there are only a select few who break the rules in every post they do

The ones who go way over the line are ones that need to be put out of their misery

Dear Members,

We at Prep gridiron hope you enjoyed your summer, and that you are excited for your teams prospects in the 2018 season.  Since last year we have grown from just over 100,000 posts to what we have today.  Truly a remarkable feet considering the myriad of demographics represented on this forum.  Thank you for your contributions, loyalty to the site, and valued suggestions.

With that being said, some of you mofo's need to reel it in.  There is a time and a place for everything, and the Prep Gridiron message boards are not the place for some of the rants, and comments we have seen lately.  It is against our policy to name names, but you know who you are, and so do we.

Once again I will post a gentle reminder of our guidelines.

Dear Members,

On behalf of the Chief and staff here at Prep Gridiron (the #1 HS Football message board in America with over something, something, posts), I would like to set some ground rules for the 2018 campaign.

1. First, the Chief has provided new additional emoticons this year.  Please use them appropriately

2. Please be sensitive, and think of  other posters feelings before you press send.

3. Please don't bore the majority of the board, by starting threads about non national relevant local teams like Buford.

4. Please show your support for you team by engaging in actual wagers with other posters.

5.  Please don't pass any judgment on the Calpreps ratings until Oct. 1 or the DLS football team, until Dec.1.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and good luck to all.

-The Comish
