Hey Whiteshoes,

YOU do have an understanding of Illinois football at the beginning of the season. Without any pre-season scrimmages allowed against other teams ...it`s rather foolish to rank our teams top 25 like Blue star did with Chicago Phillips.

I feel that there is potential this year for that to be a possibility...but not till at least mid-season.

Do you think WC can be as dominant as Ben Davis was last year?

I would like to see WC play Muskegon Mi....CBC, Mo and Homewood-Flossmoor IL.

Warren Central will not be as dominant as Ben Davis was last year due to several variables.    The first of which is simple talent.   The 2017 Ben Davis squad was a once in a decade team for our state, the best I have seen since the 2003 Warren Central team.   Another issue that has always been a problem with Warren Central is discipline and focus.    Even that great 2003 team lost two games that are still beyond comprehension.   For some strange reason, they have never been able to keep their kids focused for an entire season.    Hoping to see Homewood-Flossmoor play Michigan City in a couple of weeks if logistics can be worked out.   Finally, I have been screaming for someone to put together a four team event at Lucas Oil Stadium that would feature four of our best teams against a representative from each of our border states.    Unfortunately, no one seems to think it is a good idea but me.

You could be right, pre-season is so difficult.    Most folks feel that they are the best in Jersey this season and I have a lot of respect for teams from that state, especially the "Big Five".    First two games against Grayson and Wood should be a good barometer of where they will be this season.

Losing a d1 qb is not that easy to bounce back from esp to a kid who has no to little experience. And going on the road in your first game as a starter is never easy.

Kinda sucks that Illionois doesn't play scrimmages, but they are generally under ranked in the nationally. 

 

They could schedule OOS teams two or three weeks after to the season openner in the future.  That may give them some time to get their feet wet.

Graysons D is going to be really good, no clue about the O... Just too many unknowns with the new QB and stuff... But the D will be something serious.

So prepare to play a real, talented-up, Georgia D thats about as good as it gets in the state. Archers may be a little better, but Graysons D will be forreal.

Ok for like the umpteenth time bergen probably only has a 20-30 percent chance of actually winning the game. 1000 miles from home. Brand new QB. If they keep it close I'll be happy about that.

Colquitt may well have the best defense in the state this year. 

That's saying something considering those other two that you mentioned.
