abbatt
Fred, It`s the horrid, dangerous reality of violence in Chicago. The sad part is that areas like Garfield Park.....Altgeld Gardens......Englewood..etc. have a lot of good people there who don`t have the means to escape the nightmare. It is pure and simple gang/thug turf and drug wars that go on without any realistic response from the City, Community leaders or BLM. The team AL Raby is a program that is on the rise. They are using the Phillips approach and will give Phillips an even tougher game this year than last year. AL Raby had a strong run in the 4A play-offs last year and ...( if they can avoid injuries and the surrounding violence ) are a solid favorite to win state this year. 1

There are groups and people attempting to address the issues the problem is that the issue is poverty. Nothing short of pumping the community with funds for education, job training, and jobs for generations will fix it since that's what it took to break it. Let's keep it football here.
