If Manafort is found not guilty it will seriously question the whole investigation
Gospeeder
If Manafort is fount NG it will do more than hurt the investigation.... it will clear the freeways for white collar corruption to levels we have never seen before. The swamp will thicken.

NorCalRuss
They will get some type of conviction. That’s why they charged him with 18 counts... If they get 1/18 the left will declare days end.

But the less they get him for, the less pressure they can apply at the time of sentencing - and that was the major point of this whole exercise. If the jury after hearing the ironclad evidence can't come to a verdict after three days, it does not look good for the prosecution. Perhaps it will be a hung jury.

If it’s taking this long the jury is hung.
Bormio
You never want the biggest moment in a trial to go badly for your side - Gates by most accounts was a disaster. Yes, there is a paper trail - but tax law can be murky and fly over people’s heads. And the prosecution was arguing 2 sides of the coin. Manafort knew everything - except the part that Gates was stealing from him. All it takes is reasonable doubt.

DEFCON 10 is having tea and crumpets with the Queen of England. DEFCON 1 is the most dangerous situation. DEFCON 1 signifies that nuclear war is imminent I agree with your conclusion about what Manafort knew.
HSFBfan
Jury looks like its struggling to come to a decision. Doesn't look good for Mueller.

I actually thought I was wrong there but too lazy to check. The prosecution is arguing that Manafort knew everything, but the part where Gates was stealing him blind. Might give a juror or 2 pause. Lot's o hot takes in this thread (anybody who has served on the jury of a significant case knows the challenges -- and the jury questions have not surprised me that much). We'll find out soon enough. But you might want to consider how the jury felt about this: 😉

Gospeeder
This is a huge opportunity to send a message. For what this guy did ( and many others who in different ways do the same thing ) he needs to be sent to a high level institution... not some white collar low level country club environment... Lets see how his arrogance plays out when confined with Gen Pop. in a real prison. In addition, the terms of sentence must include no income generated from this crime relative to book deals, speaking engagements etc. after he gets out.
