DevilDog
This is being shared among active, veterans, and Retired Military members. I only posted it because I think Drummer asked the lefites to post facts. This is quite informative and making the rounds among military boards: It is quite long but very informative. Read or dismiss based on the side you choose but it has a lot of info: About 80% of the Military members find this troubling? Just wanted to share this well-written comment that recaps Trump's saga: - Trump was a candidate. He spoke very highly of Vladimir Putin, and lied about having ever met the man or having had a relationship with him. - Candidate Trump brings on Michael Flynn as an advisor on national security. Flynn is a conspiracy theorist who was fired by the sitting president, who also is known to have a pro-Russia slant. Who recommended Flynn? Putin? Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort? - Trump refuses to release his tax returns, breaking with U.S. traditions, claiming that he can't legally do so because he is under audit. The IRS says that while he is under audit there is nothing that prevents him from releasing his tax returns. Nobody outside of the Trump organization has any idea how much Trump is worth, where he owns investments or companies, or what foreign governments may or may not being paying him in the course of business. He claims that he will release his tax returns when the audit is over. - Trump's campaign manager, Paul Manafort, is accused of having close ties to Russia. It is a known fact that he worked on the campaign of pro-Russian Ukranian President Viktor Yanukovych. Yanukovych is currently in exile in Russia and wanted by Ukraine for high treason. At any rate, Manafort denies anything shady. - Leaks come about that show that there were "secret ledgers" in Ukraine that show Manafort taking a $10 million payment from Russia to work for Yanukovych. Manafort resigns from the Trump campaign. - Trump continues to speak highly of Putin and Russia, saying that he wants a closer relationship with them. He publicly invites Russia to hack Clinton's email to find "missing" or "deleted" emails. Russia was believed to have been behind previous hacks on the DNC and certain Clinton associates. - In late summer, Trump surrogates who claim to be in contact with Wikileaks/Assange (what?) start dropping hints that there's an "October surprise" waiting for Clinton. In October Wikileaks begins a steady stream of email dumps consisting of messages from the DNC and Clinton campaign chair John Podesta. Independent security analysts come forward stating that they believe Russia is behind the hacks. Trump says "It could be Russia, but it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds." - Trump wins the election and names Michael Flynn to be his National Security Advisor. This role will have him heading the National Security Council, where he will be charged with synthesizing and compiling information from various intelligence, military, and foreign policy agencies in order to brief the president on all aspects of foreign policy. It is key to national security. - Trump also nominates Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson for the role of Secretary of State. Tillerson has a strong working relationship with Vladimir Putin and Igor Sechin, the CEO of Russian state-run oil company Rosneft. - It comes out that Flynn has accepted paid trips to Russia for speaking engagements, and that he also has a relationship with many Russian officials. - The US Director of National Intelligence announces that the hacking against the DNC and Clinton campaign was definitely directed by Russian intelligence services, and that 17 US intelligence agencies were in agreement on this. They also point out that Russian officials were seen celebrating the Trump win, and that they suspected that the motive was to ensure a Trump victory. Trump still says that we don't know who did the hacking, that it could have been someone other than Russia. - President Obama and President-Elect Trump are briefed on the information gathered by the U.S. Intelligence agencies about the Russian hacking. They are also briefed on the "Steele Dossier", a report that claims that Trump has been compromised by Russian intelligence and is vulnerable to blackmail. Included is the claim that Trump and his friends were offered a 19.5% stake in Russian state-run oil company Rosneft if Trump gets elected and his administration removes the sanctions against Russia related to Russia's annexation of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine. Trump denies everything and calls it "fake news." - The man who compiled the dossier, a former British MI6 operative with extensive experience and contacts in Russia, takes his family and goes into hiding when the dossier is leaked to the press. His partner in the intelligence firm that he owns says that Steele was in fear for his and his family's lives after the report was leaked. - President Obama announces sanctions against Russia. On that same day, Michael Flynn (who at the time holds no official government role) talks on the phone with the Russian ambassador about the sanctions that are being levied by Obama. This is potentially a violation of the Logan Act. The next day Putin announces that they will not respond to US sanctions, despite a history of going "tit-for-tat" in these matters. - Trump is inaugurated, his staff is sworn in, lots of unhinged things happen. Trump still speaks fondly of Russia and Putin. His spokesperson, when pressed, says that Trump no longer intends to release his tax returns under any circumstance because "nobody cares about it". - A number of Russians identified in the Steele Dossier are arrested in Russia on treason charges. The man named in the dossier as the go-between for Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin and Vladimir Putin is found dead in the back of his own car. - Israel warns its intelligence staff not to share sensitive information with U.S. intelligence agencies because they believe that any such info will be fed to Russian intelligence. - Word gets out that Flynn had a call with the Russian ambassador on the day that Obama announced new sanctions. Flynn denies talking about sanctions, despite having talked about sanctions. He tells VP Mike Pence that he didn't talk about sanctions. Pence goes on national TV and says that Flynn didn't talk about sanctions. - The intelligence community knows damn well that he did talk about sanctions, because they intercepted the call. Somehow word gets to the Justice Department, and acting Attorney General Sally Yates informs President Trump that Flynn is susceptible to blackmail by the Russians, i.e., he has been compromised. - Behind the scenes, the CIA and NSA (National Security Agency) decide to begin withholding key intelligence information from White House intelligence briefings because they "believe that Russia has eyes and ears inside in the Situation Room". - Trump signs some executive orders, including one which puts his advisor Steve Bannon on the National Security Council and demoted the director of National Intelligence (the nation's top intelligence official) and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (the nation's top military official). It later comes to light that Trump didn't even read or fully understand this order before signing it, which begs the question "who was responsible for creating it and why was it thought to be a good idea?" Cui bono? - Another executive order was a controversial immigration order. When acting A.G. Sally Yates (who previously reported that Flynn was compromised) orders the Justice Department not to defend the order in court she is fired by President Trump. - U.S. Intelligence leaks indicate that some portions of the Steele Dossier have been confirmed as true, specifically parts that detail meetings and conversations between certain people in Russia. Investigations continue into other aspects of it. - Word gets out that U.S. Intelligence intercepted Flynn's call with the Russian ambassador and confirms that he actually did talk about sanctions (though not specifically what was said). V.P. Pence is rightfully ticked off. - The next day President Trump is asked about the reports that Flynn lied about talking sanctions with the Russian Ambassador. Trump claims to not be familiar with these reports, but says he'll look into it. - Investigative journalist Alex Mojaher claims to have partially unraveled a web of shell companies based in Dubai, Singapore, and the Cayman Islands that received a 19.5% ownership stake in Rosneft. While it is unclear who ultimately owns these companies, they are partnered with a company owned by close Trump friend and advisor Steve Schwarzman. It is unclear who else may own a stake in these companies. - Several days later, amid growing calls from Democrats for an investigation into Flynn's actions, Trump offers to let Flynn stay on to see if things "blow over", rather than firing him. Instead Flynn offers his letter of resignation, in which he apologizes for what he did. That is to say, he didn't apologize for potentially violating the Logan Act or cuddling up to the Russians. He apologized for not fully briefing the White House on the subjects of those conversations. - Russian government officials speak out publicly against Flynn's resignation.

DevilDog
And look into they are supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan. They are communist to their core and have never had our best interest at heart. As a Marine who served during the cold war. I cannot wrap my Military mind around thinking they have our best interest. PUTIN was a damn Secret Agent. Again that article is from a Military only site and you should read the comments. Not much support and some pretty damn creative comments to boot. This is a fact who the F&&K would give these bastards a pass who will contribute to the Death of Marines and Soldiers. Excuse me but F&&K that and the horse it rode in on. Our Allies are not trusting us because of this cozy Russian Bear nut hugging fest. Russia has begun openly supporting and covertly supplying the insurgent Taliban against the U.S.-backed Afghan government in Kabul.
