This is why OOS is kind of dumb unless its public vs public, private vs private.  South FL is not depicted well in OOS because there is parity and variance way more than anywhere else.  In other words, we know St Joe's will be loaded for the most part every year as will other BNU privates.  It's almost impossible (albeit a few exception years) predicting who will be the top squads in South Fl every year with the exception of STA ....and they always pick up losses down there anyway even though they dont play all of the top teams.  For the Jersey guys - it would be like us taking the winner of last years Group 3 or Group 4 and scheduling them vs STA ....it's obviously a joke as it would be some kind of murder scene.  Well, this is exactly what FL does with us so they deserve big props for that.

OOS should be played at the end of year once we see who actually wins the State  divisions ....then we would get a real (and fair) sense of State vs State

That's what I think.  Although I think it's more relative to a State like FL.....you or I could probably call the #1 and #2 team in Jersey every year at the start of the season and be correct 99% of the time.  That won't happen in FL particularly South FL - I think FL would benefit more from waiting until the end of the season to determine their top teams to go OOS.   I'm using the example here of AHP playing Joe's.  I really like Augie and Joe's and support them going OOS and think can do very well - problem is beating AHP will mean nothing because their simply not who they were last year and it's obvious.  Same thing with Deerfield Beach last year .....they had lost a lot from the prior year.  It's  no one's fault - just how it goes.  It's like when Bosco scheduled Manatee in 2011 based on Manatee's success the prior 2 years .....Manatee was a shell of the 2010 team so FL people tried to say Toal backed out in 2010.  LOL yea right - that guy would never back down......it's just the inefficiency of sending private vs public when it's just to hard for the publics to be consistent and mimic a prior year great team.  This is why I really like Bosco beating STA twice - that's apples to apples and it;s a big statement.

Great points. The outlier would be in 2013 when MC crushed DBP in Ramsey with Cook/Yearby.

Yea exactly.  I would have liked to have seen that MC team vs Bosco '11.  MC was actually missing  two top defensive players for that game ....Fred Jones (should start for FSU this year) and Deatrick Nichols (offers from everywhere - went to USF and signed this year with the Arizona Cardinals)    MC also lost to BTW that year.

I was always so impressed with the Bosco '11 defense but that MC offense was far beyond anything they saw and I think the MC defense would have been up to the task in a similar way Manatee's was against the Bosco offense which was suspect.    (MC's defense was better than Manatee's and Manatee's offense wasn't even in the same discussion as MC's - Manatee had zippo talent on offense they were just well coached which ain't gonna cut vs Bosco '11 - you need some game breakers and MC had 3 that were all world.

No doubt would it would have been interesting - we need a time information lol.

Personally, MNW '07 was the best team I've seen but those two teams are right there in the mix

Could be, but I'm not ready to write off AHP yet.   People in FL knew CC was the real deal this year.    AHP should not be lost like DFB was.

Yeah they have talent and speed can they match physicality and good coaching that SJR will bring.. maybe it will be a little closer but see SJR winning by double digits.
