Marietta is getting plastered and their #1 AND #2 RBs are out with injuries sustained vs. Rome. Along with multiple others and 3 ineligible players... This is not an excuse if true. That said... Hope hes ok, Ive been following him since he was a Freshman. 1

We all knew this last year and despite some serious playing time and opportunities Johnson still felt like kind of an afterthought in the offense. Now it’ll really be his time to shine. They are Completely different backs & JM would of gotten A LOT more carries on the year. Not saying one better than the other .... just do diff things. JM would be the consistent 4-5 yard per carry guy softening up D since he is physical while Johnson is the big play he threat. They will def need another RB to step up and help out now.

They’re usually right when it comes to this diagnosis on the field. Later tests usually just confirm it. Either way he won’t be playing against Grayson.
Gospeeder
Been really forward to this game as well as the CC game... Kind of puts a damper on it if true. I would think even if its not an ACL, any injury would hamper him.

Wonder who can fill that gap? I know very little about their RB corps. I remember a year or two ago they had a tough kid, Wade Unger, who is a wrestler, who was an RB at one point. He may fill that bruiser-type role in the backfield. But I’m not sure how good he is in comparison to McKenzie and whomever else they may have in reserve (maybe a sleeper Freshman - I know they had a few highly-touted ones joining this year)? Troll
Awful news.....As much as I'm a fan of the kid (still say he should have focused on wrestling and wrote his own ticket there), he always seemed cursed at the wrong time with injury. Wishing him well, and speedy recovery.
HSFBfan
There was no way to play JM in any preseason games with his injury history. I am certainly convinced it's time to get rid of turf field. The amount of ACL yesrs across all levels of football is nuts

The amount of ACL yesrs across all levels of football is nuts tough call, you can't just make the turf fields more 'slippery'...…. but maybe adjust the length of the cut, or possibly shoes manufacturers can catch up technology wise (tread patterns and grip etc.) to cut the injuries back down, but I'm not so sure turf is going away anytime soon...
