John Curtis vs Landry-Walker TV quality stream....that's because it's on TV too. lol

John Curtis should roll as Landry-Walker is in major reloading mode. That said Landry-Walker always runs the ATHs on the field.

Graduation hit LW Hard.

What a "Jamboree" looks like in NOLA. A little different than an ordinary scrimmage.

Landry-Walker in the Orange jamming with 4A Helen Cox in the White.

Helen Cox might be a 4A sleeper. They return 17 and have you know 8-9 D1s.. Helen Cox is in the same district as Warren Easton and Edna Karr. "The 4A District of Doom"....

Landry-Walker might give Curtis a game tomorrow night. Main reason for posting.

Alrighty then. Some "Spice Ball" tonight.........finally!

NOLA.com has Curtis winning tonight 19-6.  Curtis runs that clock eating veer and the score sounds about right unless LW implodes which they could being so young and inexperienced. LW has the ATHs to keep them around though,  I think.

4 | No. 2 JOHN CURTIS (0-0) vs. No. 16 LANDRY-WALKER (0-0)

What: Non-district game

When/where: Thursday at Behrman, 7 p.m.

Last week’s jamborees: John Curtis defeated Covington, 24-0; Landry-Walker defeated Helen Cox, 14-12.

Series record since 2008: John Curtis leads, 3-0. Their last meeting came Sept. 1, 2017, and Curtis won, 27-18.

Pick: John Curtis 19, Landry-Walker 6

What to look for? With the Patriots not being able to find a venue, Landry-Walker was able to secure Behrman, although John Curtis will be the home team. Don’t think that gives the Chargin’ Bucs an advantage.

This might be the most inexperienced team they have put together since LB Landry merged with OP Walker before the 2013-14 school year. And while Curtis doesn’t have a plethora of starters back, they have them spread throughout both sides of the football, including quarterback Collin Guggenheim.

All the Week 1 games are measuring sticks of sorts, and this one is no different. However, the past few seasons, Landry-Walker hasn’t been themselves until late September, and it’s tough to imagine they’ll be able to pull the upset here.

NOLA.com coverage: Josh Preston

Thursday Night Notes:

Warren Easton vs Jesuit is audio only with video highlights on twitter. I jumped the gun on that one.

CE Byrd vs Calvary Baptist is interesting. If CE Byrd can't handle Calvary Baptist I doubt seriously CE Byrd beats Bishop Dunne, TX at the BOB.

Calvary Baptist is famous for Shea Patterson. Those Calvary teams were pretty good. Shea is NO longer there though.

Will be keeping an eye on Catholic-BR vs Parkview Baptist as well.

LW is going to get eaten up on the DL and ST.

Great hit at the 5:15 mark though.

Probably. One thing for certain LW knows Curtis is coming with the veer and power running game.

I do think Curtis will throw it a little more this year. Lack of passing game is one reason Curtis hasn't won a D1 Title yet.

Curtis has a decent QB this year who can throw it some. He's no Peyton Manning, but he's adequate for the veer.

In the video, LW was getting burned on the RB screen. That's not usually the forte of a veer offense, but maybe if they get in long and distance, they can roll that play out.
