Nolebull813
Out Cardinal Gibbons - 2 blowout losses where they weren't even competitive. Preseason hype can't save them. Gotta earn your way in. Cocoa - losing to Treasure Coast is unacceptable. They killed this team last year 55-7. Looks like Cocoa might slip to irrelevance with Wilk gone. This was a guarantee win when the schedule was announced Booker T - towards the bottom of the top 25 and got blown out. Will have plenty of chances to jump back in Dwyer - blowout loss where they looked lost and bullied. Atlantic destroyed them. Gonna have to earn it
Nolebull813
In Atlantic Delray - looked in playoff form whooping previously ranked Dwyer. The game was never close. Atlantic has a lot of talent and is showing it off Menendez - They obliterated St Augustine by 40. And St Aug was in the honorable mention. That was eye opening Deland - back to back wins against namebrand Central Florida teams proves this team is for real. Mainland and Seminole are impressive wins for a 2-7 team trying to make a name for themself Ft Lauderdale University - expected to be good this season and backing that up by dismantling Glades Central and Immokalee

That's gonna be a good game. Winter Park is in a little turmoil because they were going through the same stuff Marietta did with guys ineligible. I think they beat Dr Pepper. But just because they got killed by Lee doesn't mean they suck. It just means they are far from elite. They can beat a Winter Park team. But I think WP gets em
Nolebull813
8A looks good. Wekiva, Apopka, Vero Beach, Atlantic Delray, Deerfield Beach, South Dade, Winter Park, Osceola and Deland all ranked 9 in the top

That totally depends on the outcome of Winter Park's appeal. If all the recent transfers in are ruled eligible (ruling due Wednesday), then WP probably beats a somewhat down DP. If they are not, Phillips wins and removes WP from the Florida top 25, NoleBull version.

And I would not write DP off as of yet. They have been known to get better as the season progresses.

So who cares what they were unranked in week 2 if they are humming come playoff time

When I left their game vs Buford with 7 minutes left in the 4th, I thought surely Buford would end up winning... it felt like their game... come to find out DFB walked off with a win. It was a very entertaining game... both teams were talented and playing very well. Buford lost the ball a lot... I remember them being inside the DFB 5, McLaughlin and scrambling and he hesitated throwing to a wide open WR in the end zone... I think he saw that missed opportunity and tried to make up for it by getting it to him late.... but by that time a DFB DB (Eaford it sounded like the announcer sound, not sure how its spelled) had stepped in between them and McLaughlin let it go right into the DBs hands... very boneheaded play.

Yeah I thought Buford was gonna win too. The score stream had DFB winning 31-14 and I was like I don't believe it. So then i checked twitter and Buford handle had it 7-7. I was like wtf? DFB is lucky to win that game. If Buford played error free it would have been a rout.
badrouter
Predictions on Apopka vs. Lakeland? Depends on how crisp Lakeland is IMO. If they are crisp, it should be a running clock. But, mix in several personal fouls etc and it could be a good game. Obviously, Apopka will be badly outmanned...

Lakeland will not put a running clock on Apopka. Apopka will not be badly outmanned. Beyond that, I have no prediction on the final outcome other than to say that this game will be well worth the price of admission, at least as good as last year's and probably better as I think both teams are better this year than they were last year. If you recall, last year's game came down to the final play. I do see, though, that Lakeland has been very busy in the off-season. On the other hand, Apopka's sophomore heavy team from last year has grown up. It should be a great game between organic growth versus recruited talent. May the best team win. 1

badrouter
2 hours ago, Columbiafan said: Lakeland is good but come on They ain't gonna running clock Apopka LMAO Like I said, Lakeland will probably get flagged for half a dozen personal foul penalties, like they did against Manatee. So, that makes a running clock much harder to come by, especially if those penalties come at bad times. Lakeland started a backup freshman QB vs. Manatee because the starter was hobbled by a hamstring injury and hadn't practiced much. The offense lacked rhythm, which is why they only won by 22.And, I'm talking about 2018, not other years. Who's to say Apopka is better than Manatee THIS year? If the starting QB is healthy and the O is back in rhythm and they avoid ill-timed personal fouls, it could be a running clock. That said, all things considered, I agree a running clock is unlikely. But, let us know what you think about the talent once you've seen the teams on the field. Darlington will need to be at his best with the trickeration to pull this one out. Nolebull813
Apopka's style of play wouldn't allow them get running clocked. Don't you have to be up by 35 points at any point in the 2nd half? Ain't gonna happen. Maybe in 2004-06 but not now
Pipe Dreams
Dr. Phillips doesn’t play Winter Park. They beat Winter Park in the spring game though. DP has West Orange (this week), Apopka (next week), Mainland (the following week) and Wekiva week 7. We will know where they stand. The offense is mostly sophomores and juniors, they will improve over time. This happened last year with DP as well. They were down 14-0 against Orange City University midway thru the 3rd during week one last year. The QB and o-line will determine their success because the skill players are definitely there.
