Pittsburg beat St Mary's 48-7

This will be ugly

Unfortunately, for St Mary’s that’s the foregone contusion.

Heres what would be epic though. Last minute 4 team deal sendin St Mary’s to Chaminade and Folsom to MD.

For St. Mary’s  and Cham, a chance at a winnable competitive bout.

For Folsom a chance to demonstrate their thermonuclear missile attack offense is not a SCUD.

As part of the deal, MD agrees to go to Folsom next year and uses Trinity league influence to get evasive SJB to travel there as well giving Folsom a 2019 SOS that would make even IMG and SJC blush.

Why MD? Why? They should have played a national preseason schedule to show them off.

If you remember, this series was originally a replacement for St. John Bosco.  Two years ago, St. Mary's came down to SoCal to play the Braves.  Then, SJB declined to make the return trip, so Mater Dei took their place and signed a two-year deal.  This was when SM was actually competing for a state title.  That, of course, is no longer taking place, but the contract remains.

I stated in another thread that I didn't think SM was going to be able to handle their schedule.  I didn't actually think it would be this bad, though.  When Central Catholic beat them, the Raiders were actually missing one of their key players... still won by double-digits.

First 4 games were already under contract...

bishop Amat normally are a good team

Who knew Gorman would be so down this year?

La Marada was a really good D3 team a when the contract was signed. Then their coach quite and the program fell apart.

St Mary’s is a solid D2 team from NorCal and beat Folsom a few years back on their way the 2nd Tier Bowl Game. They are down since the contract was signed.

MD only had one opening coming into the season and they signed up IMG. Not bad.

plus they play 3 high level teams in league and may 2 or 3 more in the playoffs.

not bad

Yeah, I think Amat will win the Mission League this season.

I think the Mission is wide open this year.

Bishop Amat lost badly to Mater Dei and in a close one to JSerra.

Serra beat the San Mateo version, but then took a weird loss to Cathedral Catholic.

People are making a big deal of Chaminade's loss to Oaks Christian, but the Lions are supposed to be really good this year.

I'm not totally buying Alemany just yet.  They get Oaks Christian this week.  We'll see if that game is similar to 'Nade's game.

At this point, I think any one of these four could rise to the top.

Awesomeness.

So SoCals best teams have taken HUGGGGGE chances with Pitt and St Mary's, who are mediocre at best, yet somehow managing to avoid DLS and Folsom.

I'm glad that we all agree that NorCal football is a farce with only two above average teams. This may be the first thing you've ever been right about.

Now we don't have to hear Pop's bullshit for 4 months.

I watched the Oaks Christian game vs the Washington team. I was not impressed with the OC offense. The league maybe wide open but at this point I'm leaning with Bishop Amat.

Dear Member,

As an avid DLS fan, I have to ask the question- If NorCal only has 2 above average teams, that are both the best teams in the entire state of GA, what does that say about GA football?

A farce? I think we would agree.

Sincerely,

Servite Tier 6

Dear McDumbass,

NorCal does not have a team that would be ranked #1 in GA.

Hope this helps.
