Interesting discussion on the BC/Grayson game tonight

I had an interesting discussion with Coach tonight about the game.  He agreed that we played poorly.  He had some interesting things to say about the BC players.  I know this is football and it is a rough sport.  Based on what he was saying, if there are nuns at BC they would have been mortified at what the BC players were saying and would have had the rulers out to whack some players.  If you were a politician or a pizza mogul, you lose your job over it.  Kind of disappointing.  I would have expected a little better from a private Catholic school.  Go figure.

And lastly, speaking of pussification the eagles/falcons game was trash.

Eagles first points came off extended drive from BS roughing the passer penalty.

Julio caught That long ball. Refs said no in real time and after challenge (if game was in atl that’s a  catch during the play and stands if challenged) the next play Ryan gets called for intentional grounding deep in own territory. Eagles score td on short field.

Last td run by ajayi, I don’t think foles snapped the ball off In time? In a hotel couldn’t rewind and they didn’t show replay with play clock.

How can anyone defend this officiating? The Nfl is “close” to being unwatchable.

Sounds like you’re trying to say the N word was used? I’ll let you clarify

I figured to get this response.  I don't care what you call my mother.  You didn't know her so it means nothing.  I get the whole getting inside your head bit.  I've said before that while I'm not fond of using profanity I'm no prude and I've seen and heard things that would make the proverbial sailor blush.  I also know there was some good juju at the end and I saw the tweets about the plane ride.  I'm not saying all were involved.  It was just disappointing to hear about this as at this time in our country we don't need to be going there.  It played perfectly to the stereotypes and I had thought better of BC.  Obviously your mileage will vary.

GSB, Papa John got run off because he only used it quoting what someone else said in comparison to something he said.  That was millions of dollars worth of "business."

If I were to call someone that in the heat of an argument here on this board, I'd face immediate suspension if not an outright ban.  If a coach in the midst of a tough, tight game were to call a player that, he would never coach again.  I think if we give these boys a pass on something that can get them fired later in life we are doing them a greater disservice than if we correct them now.

Ohhh comon Half of Bergen’s Team is black and from the ghetto ... I highly don’t they were racist.. I can see taking shit but not Being racist

Grayson guys were punked in the gamesmanship aspect of a game.Obviously BC was in their heads, early and often. Didn't think Grayson was so easily intimidated. Or that team discipline had eroded so much from the Mickey Conn and the Wing-T guru era's.

If that supposedly happened all game ? It wouldn’t be that hard to provide the players # that were so called using a Racial Slurs all game

I agree.  In all seriousness as an alum I’d like to know who the alleged culprits are.  Totally unacceptable, if true.  And the fact they’re kids shouldn’t shield them from being called out if they did this.  They should know better (the league even has a sportsmanship credo it recites at the beginning of every athletic event).  Zero tolerance.

Judging by some of the stuff I have seen on here, actually by at least one of the very guys in this thread, I wouldn't doubt coach Cutt's story at all.

From an outsider perspective...

These Jersey Catholics seem to be quite the "club."

Just sayin'.

I hardly doubt that you are one to put a good face on the BNU, when accusations like what I just read in here are coming out. That's all I'm saying.

Neither of those guys are in this thread.

But, a guy that called another user a racial slur is.

And of course he's to the defense of others supposedly using slurs.

Not surprising. It seems to be a theme from the BNU actually. Again, some of you all put a great face on the BNU.

On the flip side of this all, I understand what it feels like to have your team or communtiy called "racist". Happens to Moultrie almost every time a team that has never played at Mack Tharpe plays there.

They hate the Hawg Pound and how the folks have decided to sit.

I'm not trying to take sides in this accusation thing here, just saying that the guy trying to defend this probably should be quiet given his recent history on here.

Why would the Grayson kid go out of his way to congratulate BC if he was being called the N word by the white players?? No I suspect the word was used by the black kids on BC which would completely change the narrative trying to be pushed here.

I have no dog in this fight but just from my outside point of few I can’t see the Grayson kid doing that at games end if Racial slurs were being hurled his way all game nor can I see the black kids on BC accepting such things from their white teammates

all of the schools in the BNU have strict policies on this behavior so would like some evidence from their coach instead of just throwing it out there after his team laid an egg and was embarrassed by said " Northern Team "  Bergen Catholic.

Another point is every student at these Catholic schools are doing hundreds of hours of community service every year to better themselves, community and the school.  I take offense to these generalizations of our schools.  I can only speak for SJR but I believe it rings true for all the schools, that we are in the business of molding these boys into good young men, through academic, spiritual , athletics, community service and esprit de corps.  Our Motto at Saint Joseph Regional High School is " Vir Fidelis "  The Faithful Man.  That is what we strive for each and every student.
