Burrell had a strong anchor (like Norman below). Rai Benjamin number 2 all time 400m hurdles and collegiate record, Michael Norman collegiate record 400 meters and the duo helped USC rip a collegiate record 4x400 as well. Women finish up today and Sydney McLaughlin’s likely last two races in college. Her 400m hurdles semis on Thursday lol. Just a little lead. Barnes should have been there for Schwartz. Only the Bishop Dunne kid who would get smoked in the UIL ran as the fastest Texas kid. And they didn't run in the 4x100 or 4x400 and the Girls sent youngsters. The girl that finished 2nd in the 200 to the Florida girl finished 7th in the 5A Championships. The fastest Girls didn't run either. @DevilDog ... “Is 5th (10.50) in UIL 6A “Smoked”? That’s based on times. ‘Head to head’ competition changes things! Note Bishop Dunne placed 3rd in the Elite 200m. “2nd (20.87) in UIL 6A, “Smoked”? Both boys are 2019 <o> One more year!

The Dunne kids are fast and would get smoked in the UIL. Jalen Drayden ran a 10.53 in the Great S.W. 100m against Schwartz and finished 6th he ran a 10.59 winning TAPPS 6A. Cameron Miller he ran in the Texas Relays in the 100M DI for small schools and finished 2nd with a 10.57. He ran a 21:00 to win TAPPS 6A Championship. Legit kid too no doubt. He would not win UIL There are 45 UIL kids faster in the 100 than Jalen Drayden. So yes he would get smoked and probably would not have made State in UIL 6A in Region I. In fact that 10.53 he ran in the Great South West would have gotten him 3rd in 4A. Miller would be top 10 in the 200 and still not top 5. If you asked any Texas T&F guy to select 5 kids in the 100 and 200 to represent Texas. None would pick Miller and Drayden to represent at the highest level I am not knocking them by saying they would get smoked in UIL. I agree those are elite kids in T&F. Kentucky really fudged some handoffs and even USC had issues on the baton handoff to Kendall Ellis (STA), but she really came from far back and what a finish! The ESPN announcers underestimated the talent of Ellis and the excruciating pain of a 400 (Purdue anchor finishing up on fumes). Sydney was moving on the 3rd leg for Kentucky. Check the attachments... (3 -2019 kids in 200m, 2- 2019 kids in the 100m). These same kids run in the Junior Olympics. I’d imagine national competition is comparative to the UIL, right? Since you have to go through the UIL kids to get to nationals. I am a Texas guy. Fast is fast whether you run it in UIL, TAPPS, Florida, etc. I’d imagine if you offered to pay for kids to get to New Mexico(GSWTFC), Washington(Brooks) they’d take you up on your offer!

I think Benjamin’s teammate at USC Michael Norman (Vista Murrieta) turned pro also along w Sydney McLaughlin (Union Catholic NJ/Univ of Kentucky).
