Grayson's schedule

Their toughest games are at the beginning of the season....

Hoover AL , Aug 25th...

McEachern, Sept 1st

John Curtis LA, Sept 9th

Ramsay AL, Sept 29th

The only other 2 outside of those 4 that could challenge, is Archer & South Gwinnett. MAYBE Newton... Newton is always pretty talented, just seem to lack discipline.

But theyll have a brand new HC for the 2nd season in a row... with Hoover, McEachern, & John Curtis their 1st 3 games, I wouldnt be surprised if they lost one. This isnt last years Grayson... sorry it isnt. Last years team was crazy talented (unfortunately they had to adapt to a new HC on the fly last year too).... this years team will be too but not AS talented. And they wont have a 3 year starter QB, and 2 RBs like Jamyest Williams & Kurt Taylor... and a WR-playmaker like DeAngelo Gibbs... those guys were hella good.

They can definitely lose to 1 of those 1st 3 teams.

Been hearing rumors of a big time athlete that could possibly be heading over to Grayson

IMO, Jamyest Williams was the best player in the country last year. I think hes going to be a stud for South Carolina and a 1st Round Draft pick eventually.

... thats IF his Dad just lets him play and doesnt get too involved... his Dad sounds like the kind of guy that can get in a kids head and make him think hes larger than life... we will see.

They HAVE to play the bottom 5 games...

But they chose to schedule Hoover (AL 7A Champ and the #1 team in AL), McEachern (almost always a Top 5 GA team),  John Curtis (always Top 5 in LA) , Ramsay (the best up and coming team in AL, finished #3 in AL and won the 6A state Championship... the other, ISB... well they seem to be a team frantically searching to get their asses kicked...

Archer was a Top 100 team in 2013, '14, and '15... just had a down year last year... theyll be back soon.

South Gwinnett has as much talent or more than any team in NJ. They started out very good last year but really faded in the 2nd half of the season...

Newton can be good... just undisciplined.

The rest are just bad I agree.

If you dont mind me asking, would you a little more in depth with the sarcastic "another tough ga schedule" comment... can you tell me what you know about these teams on Graysons schedule?

NOR, can you please break down a little better, what you know about the teams on Graysons schedule... Im sure wed all appreciate the fresh prespective & knowledgeable insight you bring

I do know a NJ team has played atleast 1 of these teams on Graysons schedule... John Curtis... i believe NJ is 0-1 vs JC..

I bet you thought ECA was going to be an easy game for PC after Buford beat them, howd that turn out? Shows what you know about easy schedules.

How is it the NPG4 State Runner Ups only beat the #64 team in GA by 13 points? Ive been disappointed in most games thatve connected NJ & GA... its usually a bad outcome for NJ...

I remember Grayson beating a MC team 35-3... and then essentially that same MC team beat DBP 50-21...

You also mentioned Plant a few times before... in a mocking tone... after Colquitt beat them 42-8... but isnt NJ 0-1 vs Plant also?

I remember Colquitt & DBP had a similar opponent last year... Colquitt, very well shouldve won, but their kicker decided he didnt really want to play FB that day. The other team, DBP... lost by 3 TDs and was shut out.

I can overlook a few of these things because only 1 game was H2H.

. But when theres a common trend, and NJ ALWAYS seems to look like they have the weaker team... well.

Yea, Grayson will be loaded for the next 2 yrs , they got a prime shot at another title run this yr

If not for a new coach, they had a great shot at 3peat.

The 2018 season is going to be fun. If Colquitt can find a QB by then, I'm telling you now, Grayson/Colquitt will be an epic game if they meet.

Dont like Colquitt in 2017?

Too many question marks honestly. We will be good, but a state championship will be surprising. If the line play is better than last year (OL and DL) then our chances improve. Another concern is the lack of seniors that we will have, which will be one of the lowest that we have since Rush was hired. He likes our chances best when we can dress out 40 seniors. You need depth skill wise as well as leadership off the bench (think of the San Antonio Spurs and what makes them sucessful).

Also, we have to regain the mentality that the teams of 14 and 15 had. That is essetial. It is the difference between making the semi-finals and winning state. That will be tough because we lost many of the coaches that brought that mentality to the program. We did not have that last year because: 1.) The players did not have the same motivation and 2.) Many of the new coaches last year did not bring that mentality themselves. Quite frankly, that made me sick to my stomach.

With that being said, factor in the coaching changes at other schools and it will be interesting in 7A. At this early stage, I do not have Colquitt #1 in Region 1; I think Lowndes Co. is the team to beat down here, they will be exerienced and I believe their lines will be stronger than the other Region 1 teams. Man, that is tough for me to say, but those are my early thoughts. Things could change once I get a chance to see what we have and how much the younger guys develop over the off season.
