94Packer
The wing T was the hot thing a few years back.... Now the spread offense has taken its place for the majority. What do you thiink the next evolution of offensive strategy will be? I've noticed a lot of duo TE plays and the utilization of HB's a lot more recently
CCBlackhatter
I think it depends on the evolution of the defenses. Its a circular evolution. Each evolve to better attack the other. As far as TEs and HBs becoming more involved in playcalling, that is already taking over. Especially those modeling the Malzhan offense.

Muschamp is doing a lot of that too. Do you think that is a result of Malzhan or or do you think that a little gift Muschamp left behind. CCBlackhatter
Muschamp is getting it from Malzhan, offense is not Will's strength.
TheMaximumHornetSting
Offense has to evolve because defense has become a dinosaur concept...
ECHS05
A few of my favorite offenses from around the country Ive seen... Corona Centennial CA, Colquitt Co. GA, Lake Travis TX, Booker T. Washington FL, Bishop Gorman NV, St. John Bosco CA, Mater Dei CA, McEachern GA, Allen TX, Folsom CA(with the right QB), Chandler AZ, DeSoto TX... I really liked Chandlers offense when I saw them... Obviously those are all top national teams, and thats the main reason. Ive become a big fan of Air Raid offenses... and also the ones that spread you out wide like Corona Centennial... Chandlers is a more balanced spread but they made it look good... ---- These run heavy offenses are dead or dying... thats why Jeff Herron needed to go at Grayson, they have WAY too much talent for a run-heavy WingT coach... its just a waste. Hes a great coach , but if he cant keep up with the times he may as well stay at the small private schools.
TheMaximumHornetSting
Im more of a Defensive minded person.... And honestly I believe that as far as Defenses go... Man to Man coverage is about the only way to stop teams like Cen10 and Chandler. Lock down there weapons then mix up on em.... The job of the offense is to get in the head of the defense and score.... But if The Defense does that.... it keeps the offense guessing.... if you beat the Offense at their own game you can win pretty comfortably... CCBlackhatter
You beat Cen10 by playing physical and matching their speed. That blueprint is etched in stone.

They gashed IMG for 7 touchdowns. You're only hope is to outscore them
HawgGoneIt
I think the spread is what we will have for a long time now, unless there is some rule changes that could move favor back over to the defenses. The spread will of course evolve and be dependent upon where teams have their most talented players installed in these offenses.

Why do you think they annually lose to whoever the more physical team in Cali is? DLS rarely matches them in talent, but they are more physical. When is the last time they beat DLS?
Rufus69
To beat a good spread team...you must have speed, coaching and physicality. Rufus>>
