Horsefly
I was watching tv the other night and saw Ted Ginn on the stouffers commercial. It started me thinking of the HS team. The Tarblooders use to be a powerhouse. What has happened to the program? Don’t hear much about them.

Horse, When Coach was ill the program took a turn down with players going to other schools like Cleveland Hts & Euclid and even Ed’s. Ted is a great role model to many troubled young men but I am not sure his main focus is football anymore.

He was very much the fabric that held it together. While he’s back at the helm, his priorities have clearly shifted after he got a new lease on life. The other reason is the continued (and rapid) decline of the Glenville neighborhood and other east side communities. Just in the past few years they have dropped two divisions in terms of enrollment. Families are fleeing Cleveland’s east side inner city for the suburbs, or taking advantage of an expanded state voucher program to send their kids to private schools. Exactly like you said the voucher program gave the kids a another opportunity. Saw several single moms getting an apartment in Lakewood to better their kids.
