Cat_Scratch
Zoning rules only hold back the less fortunate. If he is homeless then he should be allowed to play. Probability is that he is homeless so he can play at Ballou, not because his mom kicked him out. Good grades may be his best ticket out, but a scholarship to Temple would be a great opportunity for him.

Maybe it was the common sense of the people around the situation that kept this murderer from the other kids on the team. You and I never met this kid to either welcome him in or keep him at bay. Not everyone who doesn't open their doors is heartless and indecent, some are really smart!
Cat_Scratch
I have a feeeling it was a tragic accident and the dude panicked. He just bought the gun and was playing with it. Hopefully there is a witness. If not then his life is done for.

The article states there were witnesses, but they all lied to the police saying the gunshot was self-inflicted by the girl. Those people will be in a heap of legal trouble too. The gun was also purchased illegally. He's going away for a long time. 1
