I only read the first line.... is this designed to speed up the game?

Being a guy who goes back and can say he saw the 61 Yankees play and the Met's at the Polo Grounds, obviously I don't like this change

I think it's a fine rule change. Put 'em on base if that's what the intention is. Going through 4 "throws" to the plate is unnecessary in my book. Especially at the Major League level. I'm tired of explaining it to my wife.

The problem is not the rule, it's the wife.  :P

Im fine by myself...

Im never getting married its nothing but a setback...

Too cool for commitment

Never say never. And what if you need a pinch runner?  Or you need someone to get you 3 outs?  Or you need a back rub?

Come on man, think of the team needs. ?

Could not disagree more.  We had plays designed for intentional walks on the field or at the plate.  Won a few games because of these plays where the pitcher would balk or throw a wild pitch or pick off plays when trying to walk somebody.  MLB overthinks too much and I'm starting to wonder how many of the decision makers actually played the game and to what level.

Your situations were not at the MLB level, and very rarely happen in those games. There is a good SportsCenter highlight once every 10 years when a Major League pitcher screws up an intentional walk pitch, but I'm willing to miss out on that.

I equate it to a football ref assessing off-setting penalties, walking off 15 yards one way and then 15 yards back to the original spot.
