One more TX score from Saturday in 6A

#9 Katy 59 Clear Springs 7

That was surprising, was not expecting them to dominate like that.  I watched it on texan live and it was over pretty quickly.  D1R3 is going to be a monster to get out of.  Whoever emerges from that region will be my favorite to win it all.

90% of Texas HS football games prior to the playoffs are complete beat downs.

Just an excuse to close the town, tailgate, and call talk radio all week,  rather than match competitive opponents

but you guys seem to enjoy it.

Yes, we obviously enjoy it. So you don't need to come in here and remind us what we already know, you are free to take your ass back to your tiers thread.

This isn't true for every other state?

Teams can't help who's in their district, so there is no matching competitive opponents once it starts.

Imo, Texas teams in general could do a better job scheduling competitive games, prior to the mandated league games.  To the outsider, it just seems that ave game attendees 10,000 people are just as happy to watch a beat down.

Most states in recent years, have put together compelling non league games. @Gardensateballer

Only a few can step it up, others scheduled solid teams, see north shore and Katy.  A few only have one predistrct game to schedule like cy fair.  They are in a 10 team district.  The only school IMO that could ramp up scheduling is Allen.  But their coach has stated recently he's not interested in OOS games and will focus on playing more instate.  We've covered this many times on here so why keep repeating?  It is what it is.

I'm not referring to OSS games.  That is a lost cause.  I am referring to better in state match ups when available.  Most of the games are decided before the teams get off the bus.  No need to even report the scores.  BORING

It's not boring if you know more about the teams they are playing.

katy scheduled 3 preseason top 10 teams in Houston: north shore, atascocita and clear springs.  They went 2-1 and needed to come from behind to beat atascocita.  Clear springs was suppose to be a better game, Katy looked vastly improved from week 1.  That's telling to a person that is aware of the competition.

north shore played 2 state top 10 teams in katy and Westfield.  They beat both of them down.  A significant improvement from a team that had 4 losses last year.

LT only had 2 predistrict games to schedule and they travelled to DFW for both, so not a bad schedule in hindsight. (35-14 and 14-0 in a game called due to weather.)

Cy fair only had one predistrict game to play, they scheduled preseason top 15 woodlands.

Duncanville had a team drop them from their schedule so they replaced them with ECA.  The best team on their schedule was SOC, but it was cancelled due to weather.

So again, the only team that could have scheduled better was Allen.  They are the reigning champs and knew they were bringing back  a SR heavy team.
