Rufus69
The best pizza I've had is Ms. Violet's handmade Australian Great White. Sometimes she let's me help with the dough...but the secret is in the white sauce...and the toppings...and the pinot grigio. Bormio
I take most of the BS peddled by the NY/NJ crowd with a grain of salt. However this is the honest truth. Now just don't start thinking you know anything about BBQ.

Horsefly
Has anyone tried Uno's pizzeria? They have a few scattered throughout the country, they are a small chain that specializes in Chicago style deep dish. Very good pizza. We have one in Texas in ft worth, fla has one in Orlando, where I first ate at one.
HawgGoneIt
The best pizza I ever ate was from a little place in Deerfield Beach, Fla. when I was a teen. Mama's Pizza. Back then there was a HoJo hotel that was the main landmark on the little stretch of public beach, a few surf shops and on a little side street was a hole in the wall pizzeria. Atmosphere maybe helped the taste, idk. When you ordered the dad or daughter, depending on who was working would shout Italian instructions to the back and then your pizza slice or whole pizza would pop through a little window some time later. I really should make a trip back down there just to see how everything has changed.
Bormio
The pizza in Italy certain compares to what you get in NY - but there are some important differences. It is always 10 inches (meant for 1 person), eaten with a knife and fork, and there is no selection of toppings by the customer. A pizza menu has like 50-60 offerings covering most any decent combination. And I agree with Rufus, some of the best pizzas have no tomato sauce.
