Speak for yourself.

How can I be any more clear that Texas doesn't have the most NFL players then posting a screenshot of the most NFL players......and Texas *not* being at the top of the list?

I love that you're pretending that it's confusing.

Total Texas move.

Obfuscate. Lie. Deflect.

How could you be more clear when YOU posted a screenshot of more Texas kids playing college football for nine out of ten years?

Well, I'm not certain you could, so you start to spin and change the discussion.  Makes sense.  :)

Total ________________  move.  (apologies, I have no idea what school/state you support)

Those two kids suck.

But I get it.

Texans need to use overrated 5-star quarterbacks to make their arguments. If even one of them makes an NFL roster it will be a miracle.

Actually it would be math.  :)

We've also learned that 52 percent of 5-star players get drafted and that 75 percent of those draftees are retained.

Should I take your evaluation and prediction or guys like Ryan Day or Dabo Swinney? (that's a rhetorical question :))

Was wondering why this thread was suddenly active at this time of the year.

tldr - a reporter from Florida want to Texas to write an article showing that Texas HS football was good and he got a quote from a HS junior that is only partially accurate but fit the article and someone got bent out of shape by it.

The chart is more Texas kids signing FBS scholarships.

Be accurate for once in your life.

And that list is 3 years old and so close as to make the number FBS schools in Texas, and signing Texas players, the sole deciding factor.

It's a fallacious argument to say that two cherry-picked 5-star players have a 52% chance of making an NFL roster.

Because that's not what that statistic is saying, think tank.

You mean the guy who *doesn't* coach Quinn Ewers any more and a goofball at Clemson who just recruits 5-star players and hopes for the best?

He also thought D.J. Uiagalelei was good.

No.

He went to Texas to write an article about how big and shiny their facilities were and some goofball kid made a factually incorrect claim to back up his indoctrinated preconceived notion.

Yes, the chart shows Texas signing more FBS scholarships and the quote was I think we (Texas) produce the most D1 athletes,.

In football, D! = FBS.  Are you trying to bring in PWO or other walk-ons?  I have no diea where you would get data.

The graph YOU provided showed Texas with more players for NINE of TEN years.

You are a very funny poster, ~"Be accurate for once in your life" followed by justification why the numbers YOU provided don't support your point.  :)

Again, I know math is hard and so are statistics.  I remember my Statistics professor telling us, on average bet the average.  That's something that has kept the casinos in business forever and Head Coaches at schools like tOSU/Clemson and posters on HS message boards and people in Vegas thinking they can beat the odds.

You're just a super duper guy.  Kid hasn't started his senior year in HS and you're going to call him a goofball.

I think we have seen he was factually incorrect about one part of the statement and not the second.  Again, math and facts are tricky sometimes.  That's why a lot of people take them and start changing the discussion.  I get it though.  It makes you feel better to "yeah, but....." instead of "I was wrong".

I believe there's always time though.  :)

No thread would be complete without a Texan lying and/or manipulating the facts.

Here are the numbers for total *high school* players and active *high school* players since that's what this board is about, that's what's relevant and that's what the kid *actually* claimed.

1.png.0938bfb732c7075fe9f3b82788570341.png

2.png.52b9e2d28e49c4f33b6d81cef2113b84.png

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you didn't actually know this since ignorance is a big part of being from Texas.

But I also won't rule out the possibility that you knew this and purposefully fished for birthplaces at pro-football-reference which is a super obscure page that isn't readily available.

Here's some more fun with math and definitions.

I went to the site.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/schools/high_schools.cgi

Pretty easy to find and also export to excel.  They list a total of 2,759 active players(that includes players from Australia/Germany/American Smaoa amongst others).

Some basic math, you can probably follow.

There are 32 teams and each team can have 53 on their active roster(dressing 46 for a game).  32 x 53 = 1,696.  That is 1,063 spots (or 33/team) less than the site lists as active players.

Of course it may include practice squad players, 16 per team or an additional 512 spots, but listing 2,759 player for a total of 2,208 spots seems a little much,

but then...............  let's look at some of the numbers and maybe a little detail.

St Thomas Aquinas is the CLEAR leader for high schools represented in the NFL.  I am not sure anyone would doubt that.  This website that we're talking about shows them with 19 active players.  The detail shows all 43 players, in addition to the 19 "active" players.  Who are the active players?

Can we revisit "active'?  I show four players, listed as "active" who didn't play since '19 or '20.

Here's the article about Sam Young retiring in August of '21.

https://www.silverandblackpride.com/2021/8/3/22608389/raiders-news-sam-young-retires-tackle

So how accurate is the data you're relying on?  Would using starting day data from USA football be any less accurate or are you sure you want to include retired players as active?

Like I said mrs. pied is a math teacher, also a fan and she would probably tell you someone who is retired and not playing isn't an "active" player.🤷‍♂️

You couldn't articulate what's paranoid about proving that the kid was wrong and that he believed the falsehood because of the culture he grew up in.

There is no need to do so, for it is irrelevant to my life or my daily thoughts revolving the football world.

Atticus.

We all know Texas lives rent free in your head 😊

Class, let us review the evidence:

When reviewing your own posts, we see a descent amount of posts regarding the wondrous Golden State known as California.

98 results spanning a total of four pages; and probably not containing a single request or reference regarding St. Thomas Aqua-dome playing the one, the only,

Mater Dei Monarchs. @HurricaneNick @Cossacks @MD87 @Eddyr2

Maybe, you could explain to us why that is, Atticus?

We would all loooove to know…….

Time is ticking…….

Next we will observe your messaging tendencies regarding that of your own state, Florida.

Class, Let us first note how Atticus Finch seems to always have himself in a Texas thread, usually commenting about Texas, to Texans, about how overrated he believes Texas football to be, and how delusional Texans are about their overrated Texas football.

Jinkies!

For someone who holds so much disdain for Texas football, you sure do spend A LOT of your time talking to us about Texas football ☺️

We appreciate your attention, Atticus.

We really do.

Now, we’re supposed to be here talking about Florida and why it seems one of the greatest all-time programs of Florida refuses to play against the up-and-comer IMG Academy.

That is very interesting.

Multiple private schools have played respectively against IMG Academy.

Multiple public schools have been brave enough to have played against IMG Academy.

Even Texas schools such as a 6-6 DeSoto, Eagles Prestonwood Christian Academy and the mighty Duncanville Panthers.

Yeah, they got their butts kicked and probably looked overrated to the likes of you, but WHO CARES 🤣 We’re Texas! We don’t Give A Fuck! 🥳

Hoooowever,

Does St. Thomas Aquinas not believe they can beat the big, bad, IMG?

You will have to answer for that Atticus.

Last but not least, we have saved the greatest for last.

Texas.

@Atticus Finch . You have devoted 11 pages and an astounding 270 results, all dedicated to the often imitated, but never duplicated, Texas.

I have nothing more to say.

Your actions speak for you.

You love Texas and it lives rent free in your head.

I can’t blame you though.

It is absolutely amazing. I think I could show you better than I could tell you.

You along with everyone else reading; I hope you enjoy this compilation of all things Texas high school football and everything that goes with it:

To be continued. . . . .

The chart was from 2019, numbnuts.

By my count there have been three recruiting classes since then and Texas had been hemmoraghing their lead for the last decade prior to that.

Also, D1 is both FBS *and* FCS.

Finally, Texas has 5 more FBS schools in their state (12 to 7) which means that Texas' tiny lead is basically all because they just have more scholarships to give out.

You're fishing because the underlying truth is undeniable.

Yeah, Sam Young's last year shown in your own screen cap says 2020.

The list on pro-football-reference probably isn't ironclad either.

Shock!

Doesn't matter. Do the count yourself. Texas isn't first on any published list or by any standard.
