OT: Instant Classic

I can't believe it wasn't streamed, but there was an absolute barn burner today on Winton Ave in Concord, CA.

Team PrepGridiron took the field against Team GloryDays in the kindergarten division of flag football.

Team Glory poured it on in the 1st half, with a fast paced O and a smothering D.

This game however, was a tale of two halves.  Team Prep used some quick strike bubble screens and a swarming D to storm back and tie the game.

And a tie was how it ended.

Maybe the playoffs can separate these two monster teams.

Any of those kids interested in furthering their Catholic education at our fine institution in Santa Ana?  We can provide transportation.

There were a few kids that would look good in Rollo red.

Unfortunately they're all likely to get fitted in some Spartan green.

2026-29 will be rough on the South.

Ha! Awesome thread, Glory. It was a pretty epic game and great to see You. Glory's boy had a TD saving tackle at one point in the game (difference maker)

Its special to watch these kindergarteners.  Certainly some impressive kids. Let's hope they are Spartan green.

I think someone is being a tad modest.

How many times did Prep Jr take it to the house?  Two or three?

He's got some wheels to be going the field against my 2nd half D.

Definitely great to see you as well, and this was by far my favorite game of the year ( a tie no less!).  Seeing these kids finally start to grasp the competitive aspect has been awesome, and I commend you and the coaches on your team for taking the road you're on.

Good luck next week, I've got the 1st place team and a likely date with an L.

Honestly, I'm a pretty calm dude IRL.

I was minutes away from completely losing my shit on the opposing coaches.

Bending rules, yelling at kids, and my personal favorite, coach telling his team as they're on the line to go deep for a pass after he called a draw...

There's a right way to do youth sports, and these clowns aren't close.

Hope your game went better than mine Prep.

Little Prep caught a "deep bomb" (about a 10 yard throw) and took it to the house. He had another run for a TD (impressed because a kid on the other team nearly ran him down). Anyways, we played the last place team and needed another team to lose to get into the playoffs. We finished 5th; just on the outside looking in. I hear Glory though, there was a few things out there that that were untoward.
