If you get a penalty and the other team declines it, does it still count in your penalty total?

And if you go for it on 4th down and you don't get it, does that count as an official turnover like a fumble or pick?

No a Turnover on Downs doesnt count as a regular turnover like a fumble or pick.

And no, declined penalties arent counted in a teams total.

Question. Last night in the pouring rain Colerain intercepted a pass and then on the return fumbled it and Fairfield recovered.......does the initial turnover count and does it count as 2 turnovers on 1 play?

Not if it’s raining.

That’s the Servite Rule.  Rain only affects the losing team.

Seriously, though, that’s an interesting question.  I can see an arguement both ways.

Case 1) Clearly the int is a turnover and the Fairfield QB gets an int against, then the Colerain fumble is a second turnover,

Or

Case 2) At the end of the play Fairfield ends up with the ball, so effectively no turnover, but yet there was still the int, which can’t be ignored,

But

How can there be an interception on a play with no turnover?

Curse you, Coletrain.  Now I must drink more ...

I’d say A. Once the interception occurred, it is a change of possession IMO.

The guy intercepts it is now the ballcarrier. If he fumbles after that,  I don’t see how it’s different from a offensive player (ballcarrier)  turning it over in a run?

If a running back runs for say 40 yards and then fumbles the ball and a teammate recovers it, does anyone get credit for the 40 yards rushing?

And if a teammate picks it up and scores a TD is it a rushing TD.

And if a teammate recovers a fumble does he get a "fumble recovery" added to his stats? Lol

Damn Nole, you're dumber than the rock your daddy spawned you on.

Thanks for the clarification about which rock you were referring to. When everything about my existence is about a rock it gets kinda confusing sometimes.

Daddy was on the rock, beat off on a rock, and now I'm on the rock. Twisted shit that gets darker the more information you find out 😂

It will show up in number of penalties but obviously not the total yards

does not count as turnover
