Sure does seem to be a lot of this stuff going on this year. As you scroll through CP,  there is a lot of red ink from forfeits.

Warner Robins forfeits region win, report says
Warner Robins, the third-ranked football team in Class AAAAA, must forfeit its Oct. 5 victory over Harris County for inadvertently using an ineligible player, Fox24 WGXA-TV in Macon first reported.

The Georgia High School Association has not made an official ruling. The TV station spoke with Warner Robins coach Mike Chastain, who confirmed the self-reported violation. If the forfeit stands, Warner Robins (at 7-2 overall, 2-1 in Region 1-AAAAA) still could win its region title and earn the No. 1 seed with a victory Friday against Veterans (8-1, 2-1).

The reason for the player's ineligibility was not disclosed. Chastain told Fox24 that the player participated in only one play in the Harris County game. Warner Robins won the game 41-0.

I'm just trying to understand how an ineligible player was inadvertantly used to begin with.

If he's ineligible to start with, why dress him out in pads so that a mistake like this could even occur?

Anyway, just an interesting theme this year. Mater Dei, Mission Viejo, Warner Robins.

This is what I found out about the ineligible player:

The player was not in either game against Bainbridge or TCC.The Player transferred in the middle of the season and plays special teams. His father is military and his sons transcripts weren't posted and the ghsa has rules on a student's grades.

If you want people to take you seriously, you need to stop using CalPreps rankings. 🤣

You feel differently than negro

he was extremely ecstatic about CP’s MNC in 2013 — kept hitting refresh until the results came then shouted it for all to hear

my only problem with CP this year is st Francis — normally by late October I can at least explain why this team or that is placed in such a such place.  St Francis befuddles me

So it's safe to assume that the coaches didn't realize he was ineligible on the night they shot him in for one play?

I mean, it appears that in the grand scheme of seedings and whatever, they can afford the forfeit, but, if a kid is ineligible, just don't put him in pads on the sideline until he is eligible. He can suit up. Warm up and etc., but, no pads. Then you can't make a mistake by putting him into the game "inadvertantly."

I'm glad it didn't really hurt them though.

Right. People making it seem like Warner Robins is cheating or whatnot. It's really not a big deal tho. They'll handle business tomorrow night, and have home field throughout the playoffs.....unless it comes down to a coin flip between them and another 1 seed.

Their season was stolen from them by the pussy teams in their Conference. Not fair to penalize them for this. They'd be Top 10 even if they played those conference games, which would've been vs irrelevant teams anyway. No need to discredit their lightning-shortened win vs SJP either.

Then it shouldn't ever be fair to penalize any team whose schedule is outside of their own control.

It shouldn't be fair to penalize or discredit any team for shortened games or schedules against irrelevant teams.

SFA being allowed to ride high in the polls this year is exacting proof of the hypocrisy of the pollsters and people like you. They can understand the difficulties of SFA this season but just can't wrap their heads around the difficulties of every other team trying to create a schedule? Gtfoh.

It's also appears to be proof that they can manipulate the algorithm to allow them to stay top 5 in the country as well.

I wonder how many of these cases go unreported.  We seem to always see teams forfeiting games because they self report it.  But, how many do not report it and just let it slide?

I'd hope none, but one can only imagine. I mean, it seems like, well, it was just one play.

My thing is, why have the kid in full pads on the sideline to start with. Idk. Tough stuff I guess.

The reason to report it would be that later someone watching film with enough time and will power on their hands could catch it for you.
