Big turnout

I went out to vote, as usual, at 6am. The place was packed!

I have been voting in the same place for 15 years now, at the same time and it has NEVER been this busy.

WTF. This is not even a Presidential election.

My impressions, these are Trump voters. Folks motivated.

I did not see but one Hispanic and not a one person under 40 or black.

It' s early but that blue wave may be a wash out.

I guess the voters are still mad at what your party did to Supreme Court Justice Brett "beer keg" Kavanaugh.

Perhaps this is because you are a good coastal leftist who makes sure his community is lily white (except for "the help", of course) while virtue-signalling on the internet until his fingertips bleed?

Upon reading this, he will smirk slyly, knowing that the truth just got thrown in his face, and he will try some witty comeback that will have nothing to do with what you said, and more deflection about race or some other madeup identity politics 😂

I am not a smirker, Bull and I don't deflect.

and yeah, I do live in a 90% plus white town but I did my share as I brought in minority. ;)

So I guess that makes me the opposite of how Concha portrayed me....

Nah, you stated on Rivals that you like your community lily white.  It made you feel safer, or something to that effect.

Keep it real Nor...

I love urban areas, inner cities to be more exact. Always have. That is where I lived most my life.

It was you as I was somewhat shocked by your comment.  I believe it was to  Tesadura.  It was a post about 3 years ago or so.  Right about the time folks broke away from rivals and went over to Dallas.

You are mistaken, misinterpreted or took it out of context. Or maybe I was bring flippant and you took it literal?????

I fought with Test, Drummer and GSB about cities back then.. I was the guy posting how I loved NYC metro life and was looking for a property in a "tough" part of Jersey City and then later I was looking for a second home, an apartment in NYC. Not on 57th and 5th although that us where I say when I am in on business.

I know what I read, I’m gonna hope that it was out of context though based on what you just posted.

Like I said, I was surprised as that’s not how I thought of you.

Memory is a funny thing plus even if it's accurate (seldom is) you need consider perspective.

Anyway, I am racking my brain trying to think what makes you think I prefer quaint white towns as a race thing????

Reminds me of another of my stories.. I moved to this (and it is) white town because my dad died and mom was old so I bought the house next door to be near mom. My parents lived there because it was my mom's childhood home and they retired there. (it's a farm)

I was brought up in and love cities.

Sooo with that back ground, I was driving my youngest home from a soccer tournament on Long Island one day. About 3 years after we had moved to the "country." On the way home is a highway, US 95, that is cut right through the heart of the Bronx. (terrible design by Robert Moses but that is a different story) . We were stopped in traffic. Dead stop. From the sport were you can see the city side streets as they are a level above you. Everything up there was stopped to. Cabs buses cars trucks.... It was hot, the city was old and dirty looking. It was loud. Music, cars, truck noises. It smelled of all kinds of chemical mixed with Hispanic deep fried foods, exhaust. The level about the street is the subway, elevated at this point. A train now appears adding to the hectic atmosphere and noise.

I look at me significant and she looks at me and I say, "wow, I really miss this place, I want to move back." She nods in agreement.

(my kid, 8th grade at the time looks at the two of us and says, "you guys are nuts!" )

I do wonder what I wrote that made you think I like white towns...

I just told you what you wrote.  It was mentioned that you live in a white neighborhood and you conceded that you do, but you like it as it provides safety. You even mentioned you hoped that it didn’t come across as racist.

how do you think I know the details that you live in a predominantly white neighborhood, even who you were talking to?

The memory isn’t failing as it was a significant event that shaped what I thought of you every time you go on one of your our social justice rants.

Funny that you mention memory is faulty, then proceed in detail to tell me a story from your past.  Smh

This is just not me.

Safety? I hoped I did not come across as racist? I never talk like this. I never think like this. This is not a misinterpretation or context thing as I suspected, this is just someone else talking.

I have never thought of a city as unsafe. I have never thought of a white town as safe.  It's just not me in any way shape or form.

I am ultra comfortable in cities, inner cities. I got more stories... seriously.

and I never consider the possibility of being considered a racist. My dinner table is a UN assembly.

This makes it clear to me, there is serious confusion at play. Glad I straightened it out. I literally just LOL thinking of what those around me would say about you thinking  I would  even consider safety in such terms.  That anyone in any way would consider me racist in thought... Even if I am wrong in perceiving myself as not racist, I am so secure in the fact that I am not racist that I would never writer something like that.

You definitely confused my post with someone else.

It's not a big deal, forget it.

You did not even enjoy my story? Few enjoy a dirty old congested city, I was hoping you'd at least appreciate my uniqueness.

I know a guy, great guy. He's a customer of mine. You remind me of him. When I first started doing business with him he'd call me and tell me about the mistakes on his order. I'd go though the paperwork and find the mistakes were his. after a year or two I stopped going through the paperwork. It didn't matter. He had a great memory and never made a mistake in recollection. Facts were not gonna change his reality. Still a great guy but he hangs around with folks who constantly are mistaken. ;)

anyway, whatever I said or you think I said, forget. It did not make my lips to your ears as intended.

peace out

You should have left it alone.

OMG, I was talking about carrots... I remember that.

Freakin' carrots made me sick to my stomach.

Talk about a flippant throw away comment..

No reference to safety or concern about coming across as a racist.

Test says, NJ is one of the most segregated states. I then say, "Yeah, NJ sucks... or is this a good thing?"

so my comment about white right after was obviously flippant/sarcastic.

Read it again and keep this in mind.

Just what I said a few posts ago that it must have been flippant or  sarcastic if I said anything like that.

I am talking about confirmation bias and carrots all in 3-4 sentences.

My point was about perception and bias.

You may rest assured I do not consider the make up of my town as a desirable attribute that brought me here.
