Graysons 2016 Game-by-Game Highlights

Grayson highlights from each game this past year.... mostly UTR, Nationalprepstars, PassportplayasTV & FOOTBALLVILLE NATION highlights...

Kind of interesting to watch Graysons progression... the 1st few weeks, the offense struggles to adapt to this new style Jeff Herron brought to the team, but they gradually get better, and by the 2nd half of the season look great... crushing ALs 7A State Champ, Hoover, 36-14... beating Colquitt 49-21 in the Quarterfinals... eliminating previously undefeated & Top 25 Mill Creek 44-26 in the Semifinals... and then their epic showdown vs Roswell , where Roswells defense dominated the 1st 3 Quarters, then Grayson came alive in the 4th & OT to eventually win the State Championship 23-20

Basically this is a post of Highlights & Full Games of Graysons 2016 season...

-----------

IMG Academy USA 26, Grayson 7 (Game #1)

*Full Game*

Dont have any highlights of Graysons 26-7 loss vs IMG...  but Ill post the full game for anyone that wants to see it... Grayson looked like the superior team the 1st half, IMG could only move the ball 1 way the entire game.... Kellen Mond scrambling every single play... though Grayson would turn the ball over 4 times, putting the Rams D on the field too often, until eventually IMGs huge OL wore down the Grayson defense in the 4th, and IMG would extend their lead from 10-7 to 26-7 ... heres the full game...

=========================

Grayson 16, McEachern 13 (Game #2)

*Highlights* ... 14 minutes of Highlights

 This guy goes around to different games every week, filming, to make highlight reels like this every week.... its really good stuff. Tons of highlights. This was a great defensive game...In this one, McEachern is leading 13-10 in the 4th, Grayson nails a FG with 2:25 remaining in the game to tie it 13-13,  on the ensuing possession, Grayson intercepts a long throw by McEachern QB Bailey Hockman at their own 40... Grayson hits the game winning FG on 4th & 3 from the McEachern 4 as time expires... 16-13

I suggest skipping up to around 7:40 if you just want to see game highlights... everything before that is just pregame stuff

====================

Grayson 39, Deerfield Beach FL 14 (Game #3)

*Highlights*

Grayson is up 22-7 at halftime, extends the lead to 39-7 in the 4th and DFB scores a late garbage TD to make the final 39-14... UTR highlights :

===============

Grayson 38, Ramsay AL 6 (Game #4)

*Highlights*

Grayson crushes the eventual Alabama 6A State Champs... up 24-0 at halftime... Grayson was in control the entire way...

===================

Grayson 36, Hoover AL 14 (Game #9)

*Full Game*

5 weeks after the Ramsay highlights above... Grayson goes from playing the eventual AL 6A State Champs to the eventual AL 7A State Champs...  however, there are no highlights of Grayson vs Hoover... BUT here is the FULL GAME for anyone that wants to see it......

===============================

Grayson 56, Mountain View 7 (Game #11 - 1st Rd Playoffs)

*Highlights*

Mountain View is a relatively new school, and they were having one of their best seasons ever... unfortunately for them, they drew Grayson in the 1st round. Grayson dominated from start to finish...

====================

Grayson 49, Colquitt Co. 21 (Game #13 - Quarterfinals)

*Full Game*

No highlights of this one unfortunately, but its a great game to watch... even though Grayson pretty much controls this one from the get go... its 28-7 at halftime, and Grayson even leads 49-14 at one point... if you want to see the Pack lose in a way you probably never will again, check it out...

================

Grayson 44, Mill Creek 26 (Game #14 - Semifinals)

*9 Minutes of Highlights & The Full Game of Just The Plays, No Inbetween, that is 1 hour & 14 mins long *

This game truly shows off how dominate Grayson was. Before this game, Mill Creek was 26-1 the past 2 seasons... boasting one of the best defenses in the state the past 2 years... Mill Creek had just beaten McEachern 31-28 the week prior, but Grayson lays it on them...

9 Minute Highlights -

And All The Plays with No Inbetween (1 hour, 14 mins) -

=============

And finally the epic conclusion to Graysons 2016 State Championship Season...

Grayson 23, Roswell 20 - OT (Game #15 - State Championship)

There aren't any quick highlights of this one, only have the full game... but its worth watching!!!

You think Grayson woulda won the national championship if they had won against IMG? Because in my opinion, they were looking like the best team in the country at the season's end.

IMG would have been a great win for Grayson. Alas, it was a bad loss instead.

They would have still probably not won the MNC or a MNC, but they would have been much more in the discussion than they were. Failure to go to the State Champions Bowl Series would have been the big nail in the MNC coffin for them imo.

Exactly. They woulda been 16-0 (wins over IMG and Chandler).

Why don't you think they woulda won it tho? Because of that school in Las Vegas??? Lol

I think the only way to have won it this past year would have been to have played and beaten Bishop Gorman on the field. It would have been really difficult to claim it from them, even with a bowl series win over Chandler and IMG.

I heard Grayson was trying to set up a game with Gorman, but it fell through unfortunately.

Seems to happen a lot with Gorman and Georgia teams. It seems like eventually we'll get a game though, if teams keep trying to schedule them. Hopefully when it does it's a good match-up though.

And i'm willing to bet that Gorman didn't want to travel east of the mississippi either

Honestly... if Grayson was in the MNC picture at years end... they probably wouldve went. A win over IMG & Chandler on top of what they had over Hoover, McEachern, Colquitt, Mill Creek, & Roswell wouldve been a better resume than BG by a mile. Thats 3 Top 15 wins & 4 Top 25... and 7 top 100.

Not really. Had Grayson beaten all of IMG, Roswell, Chandler, Hoover, Mill Creek, Colquitt, & McEachern... thats an MNC resume any year.

They finished anywhere from #3 to #5 with a Loss to IMG and no Chandler win. If those 2 are flipped... its all those Ws I mentioned above vs BG just beating STA, SJB, Cedar Hill(not that good), Kahuku(not that good), Cocoa(meh), and... Liberty?

No... Grayson wins that. A lot of the trash talk by haters on here has swung you way too far in the opposite direction. Have to take all that mess with a grain my friend.

I don't think so. If it was "about money" they didn't care to go at all. I think it was more about a coach looking for an out and never really being a Ram to start with. He was looking for a way out the whole time, and found it, and is now gone. From the outside looking in... Something just ain't right up there. No offense Fred.

They definitely would have been in the conversation. I can't deny them that, but man, the pundits were giving it to BG either way this time if they didn't lose.

The reason I say that, is the being at the top for a period of time thing for BG and Grayson not so much. Having said that, seeing that Grayson was at the top this year, if they do it again this upcoming season, they'll have a much better shot at it. It's really difficult to deny a team like that 2 years in a row... especially if they win out and go back to back.

Yeah... USAToday wouldve given it to BG and Grayson wouldve been #2. USAT isnt moving BG til they lose. Wouldnt matter if Grayson beat all teams #3-#15.

But most every other poll wouldve had Grayson winning.

Idk. Maybe they get a piece from a couple of polls if they won out and played that extra against Chandler. I think there is something to be said for that remaining at the top for a while thing in all of the pollster's eyes though. I'd bet if Grayson somehow does it again this year, they'll get them some of it.

Thats the thing though... Gorman hasnt always been at the top in the other polls. Just USAT.

Last year Katy won the HSFB100, MaxPreps Xcellent Top 25, and PrepNation. Colquitt won HSFBA & PrepForce. De La Salle won CalPreps,  ...

BG never really won anything but USAT before this year. And USAT is the worst poll out.... well tied with CalPreps

BG started out so high this year because theyd been in the Top 5 the last 2 years and that core was now seniors. But they were far from a slam dunk.

That win over IMG wouldve went A LONG way for Grayson. Not sure exactlt what wouldve happened, but Graysons resume wouldve been superior.

Dont forget, Grayson started Top 5 in every poll this year... they didnt work their way up, they were #2 at USAToday when they played IMG. Whilst IMG was #4.

Well check it out homey... no other poll has been this insanely biased...

Heres the CalPreps National Champ the last 7 years...

2010: De La Salle CA

2011: Don Bosco Prep NJ ... (DLS finished #3 with a 30-6 loss to STA)

2012: De La Salle CA

2013: St. John Bosco CA  (oh hello DLS at #6)

2014: De La Salle CA (1 win over a Top 100 team, their 2nd best win was #188 Byrnes... while a team like (#4)Allen TX had 5 Top 100 wins and 7 wins better than DLSs 2nd best... this is historically idiotic)

2015: you guessed it... De La Salle CA for the 4th time in 6 years... with Corona Centennial CA #2 and St. John Bosco CA #4

2016: Bishop Gorman NV/CA ... with SJB CA #2 and Mater Dei CA #3... De La Salle finished #24 ..BUT the only reason for that is they lost to an undefeated East UT, and East UT finished #23... a team that lost to an undefeated team cannot pass that undefeated in the ranking, they can only get to within .2 points of them, or DLS wouldve been right there with the rest of them.

Theres a reason the site is called CaliforniaPreps.com

The people that like it are the people its biased FOR, what a coincidence. States cannot be put together the way CalPreps does it. Its simply not a real national ranking service. Each of those states should remain their own ranking... and not be made into a new list with all of the teams together labeled "national rankings".

No need to pay attention to CalPreps since everyone knows that it's biased (except for Californians). Just stick to Maxpreps and USA Today

No offense taken but it was about the money.  Given more time money might not have been an issue but at that point there wasn't enough to make it happen without causing budget issues.

I would differ on the coach not really being a Ram as well.  I just can't divulge what I know about his leaving but I can say it had nothing to do with not being a Ram.  Herron liked his job and was looking forward to the coming year.  Dollars made it a once in a lifetime opportunity that I probably would have taken as well if it put me where I wanted to be the way it did Jeff.
