I agree. While oos matchups are fun, and certainly make it easier to get "noticed" by pollsters, they aren't an absolute necessity in order to be ranked or win an MNC. 

I like having teams play OOS games, but, given how ridiculous all the arguments become based off of a game like BC vs. Grayson this year for instance, they can cause more confusion than actually help with national placement.

SFA in tier 2 and Colquitt/Milton(both Georgia 1st tier) in national tier 3. Based off of SFA beating Lee County (Georgia  tier 3)

The obvious problem with these OOS games, especially as it pertains to public school ball, is, match makers CAN NOT guess which team will be the best in a state like Georgia or Texas. 

They want so badly to say some stacked private academy is better than a state.

If anyone would have tried matching a Texas school this year, they would have wanted to make a MD vs Allen matchup. They'd have guessed wrong as hell and still had no proof, but, would have used all manner of bullshit twisted logic to make the actual best team from Texas be worse than MD due to a game between Allen and MD. 

Same shit we saw with the BC vs. Grayson and GC vs. Marietta games this year. 

You may get lucky and catch lightning in a bottle occasionally and get the best public from a state like Texas or Georgia so not saying you shouldn't try, but definitely if these games are going to be used in some manner to rank teams that aren't even involved, I'd just as soon have them not happen.

 A state champion from California is equivalent to a Texas first round loser. 

  Plus they all have losses.  If any of those California teams played North Shore or Duncanville it wouldn’t be pretty for the state that says giving Aids is a misdemeanor. Lol.

This is what we’re talking about. You don’t make compelling arguments anymore and you get exposed a lot. North Shore went on to beat them by two touchdowns again at a neutral site. Katy was clearly never the best team. They aren’t better than Duncanville or Allen either.

As someone who has followed Katy football for over 50 years, I can safely say that Katy was not the best team in Texas this year.  Top 10, yes.  But they need to eat a few cheeseburgers over the offseason to hold their ground against the North Shores and Duncanvilles.
