BigDrop
Why would anyone move to Florida to be on IMG's second team? For that matter why would anyone schedule IMG's "second" team? What exactly would it mean if you beat them?

For the players and their parents, it's the opportunity to exaggerate to their friends that "my son plays football for IMG." While this is two years old it is interesting: http://highschoolsports.mlive.com/news/article/-3598635097957588801/img-academy-in-florida-too-good-an-opportunity-to-pass-up-for-lincoln-football-players/ "Standard tuition for one year of boarding at IMG Academy is $68,500 plus a team sport competition and training gear fee that ranges from $3,750-$4,250 depending on the sport. A single semester costs $39,400." If the $72,000 a year is true my guess is that IMG will have a third team Varsity, perhaps a 4th and 5th team, too. Wonder when Bishop Gorman will field a second varsity team?
eaglesinsider
Dunbar (Baltimore) is travelling down to play IMG the week of 9/29. Based on the open dates and the fact that Dunbar is a 1A MD public school I'd assume it's the IMG "B" team.
sportsnut25
Just updated the original post. Added Dunbar to the varsity team schedule, as well as a game against Nature Coast Tech.

Is anyone else able to confirm any of the other dates? Based on the partial Saint Frances schedule I've compiled so far, the only date that would fit for them to play IMG is 9/8, don't know if the game would be home or away though: Saint Frances Academy (home games played at Patterson Park): Week 1- Week 2- vs. IMG Academy National (FL) Week 3 (9/15)- at Don Bosco Prep (NJ) Week 4- Week 5 (9/30)- at Loyola Week 6 (10/6)- McDonogh Week 7- vs. Gilman Week 8 (10/20)- at Archbishop Spalding Week 9- vs. Mount Saint Joseph Week 10- Either Week 4 or 10 for SFA is their last conference game (Calvert Hall). I don't know their last two OOC games but 99% sure they'll be OOS.
sportsnut25
What day would week 10 be for St Frances? Because last year SFA played IMG on 11/12 which was the first round of the playoffs for Florida teams so I'm wondering if perhaps that could be same scenario this year. MIAA will have playoffs this season (11/11 and 11/18) so SFA can't play OOC any later than 11/4.

Last year (and other years prior) they called the "varsity" team the JV squad. Now they eliminated JV (from my understanding) in favor of a second varsity team. Texasball
It's just a matter of time before they don't have all the right recruits to win some big games. Miami Central could give them trouble this coming year!
