Not saying it doesn't...but if team A is six touchdowns better than team B (bigger, faster and more talented) but team B plays their butts off, makes few mistakes and shows great togetherness and sportsmanship but loses by one point to team A who plays way beneath their abilities and yells at each other and taunts at every opportunity...who are the "winners" in this scenario? And would you rather be the winners on the scoreboard or the winners in life?

I would give credit for team b and be disappointed in team a. 

Depends on what your definition of winner in life is
