It is actually pretty scary. Personally, I would not fly right now. It may take a tragedy to resolve this.

Heres how you solve it

On August 5, following the PATCO workers' refusal to return to work,Reagan fired the 11,345 striking air traffic controllers who had ignored the order, and banned them from federal service for life. ... PATCO was decertified by the Federal Labor Relations Authority on October 22, 1981.

@DarterBlue

Been travelling on business lately, wondering when travel is going to be shut down.   Air Traffic Controllers receive training and certifications on a regular basis.  That is no longer happening.  Meanwhile more are getting "sick."

Here is an anecdote from my travels yesterday.  It's pretty clear that the TSA ranks are also thinning.  They were using dogs as a pre-screen and pushing baggage through the scanner without removing computers.  As I was going through security, I made sure to thank every TSA agent.  Two of them were standing together, and I basically said that what is happening is wrong and thanked them for continuing to do their job.  Honestly, one of them looked like he was going to break down, and mumbled a 'thanks.'  It's clear to me the financial stress is taking a toll...

Got to give Crime Family Don credit.  He really is a uniter - He's the only one that can get us all to say thanks to TSA agents...

I'll tell you this no way Trump gets in office again....

 Any chance he had is gone after this...

And the reason I say this is because of Govermental unrest....

How many shutdowns have we had?

I won't throw civil unrest as a cause because shit... That would be the case regardless of who we had....

Honestly I could describe his presidency so far in three words:

High School Drama

That was the beginning of the end for organized labor. But you really would not understand!
