FootballGuy
Who do y'all think would've won this game? Boise State defeated TCU in the Sugar Bowl that year and went 14-0. Had tons of talent. Bama had a shit load of NFL talent on defense in 2011 when they won the natty against LSU.

TheMaximumHornetSting
As much as I hate Bama and their Bandwagon Fans.... I dont think Boise wouldve kept up with Bama.... The only team that couldve or had a shot at beating bama from out west is Oregon. Not any of the recent Oregin teams. I mean the mariota Oregon teams. That 2014 Oregon team that lost to OSU was nasty.... and I believe Mariota wouldve had a field day with that Bama secondary....

I would favor Bama in that contest. Oregon vs Bama is the game that everyone wanted but never got. I would favor Oregon in that game just because Bama usually struggles with quarterbacks that can run.....or if your name is Johnny Manziel. Bama would win, something like 34-7. Too powerful on the offensive line w/ Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy on offense. And the defense speaks for itself, maybe the greatest of all time (9 touchdowns allowed all year, numerous all Americans, multiple shutouts, unparalleled discipline, elite depth). Though the 2015/2016 D may have had an even better front 7, but that is debatable. Those two defenses had much better pass rushes, but 2011 was the total package. People don't realize the huge drop off in talent in the secondary after 2011. 2011 had Barron, Lester, Kirkpatrick, Milliner, and others, while 2014 had none of them. Landon Collins was good at laying the wood to near the LOS, but no elite cover guys. Not even close.

Watson won over in the NC because of the offense wetting the bed and having forced the defense to keep making stops. Also, Clemson's offense featured more mismatch potential players. Just saying this now to clear up any questions.

Was watching highlights of LSU/Bama (2012 National Championship) and I started thinking of some great offenses that I've seen. Well, I remember how good Boise was in 09, so I started to wonder how that 09 Boise team woulda fared against 2011 Bama.

The edge rushers would have abused the A&M tackles, and Bama was insanely fast at linebacker. Evans, Foster, and Hamilton was an elite group. And Humphrey, Fitz, and Eddie in the secondary would have done much better than John Fulton and a sophomore Cyrus Jones. Manziel wouldn't escape the grip of Allen or Williams like he did against Pagan. 2016 defense was superior in every way to the 2013 or even 2012 defense. And much faster too. Johnny always managed to create something out of nothing. Him and Mike Evans were unstoppable. And you really think Luke Joeckel (LT) and Jake Matthews (RT) wouldn't have held their own? Johnny had something like 1 or maybe two touchdowns and numerous picks against LSU in his career. 2011 LSU D would have shut down the 2012 and 13 Manziel offenses. Again, Bama had a TOTALLY different defense in 2016 than 2013. Different personnel, different and better scheme, better talent, far better pass rush, and much faster. I'm not saying Bama shuts them out, but it would likely end heavily in their favor.

nptb17
Bama by 10. Boise lines were good but not dominant and that is the only way to beat Bama.

I can't confidently say that. I give that Boise team a good shot because every time they had a big game on their cupcake schedule, they always rose to the occasion and walked away with the W. Boise was very good on D that year and had a great offense (kellen moore, doug martin, titus young, Austin pettis) I think it would've been a good game
