There are threats of libel suits and slander from all sides.

So much of this is he said/she said, that, just telling wbat someone said to you, be it the truth or bent a little can lead to needing lawyers and hefty expenses.

Don't let your need/want for gossip and blood get your board pals in trouble.

Oh yea...

I took Journalism and could've/should've  told you this was gonna happen...

That's why this whole thing pisses me off and that's also why Rush ain't saying nothing... He knows it and the lawyers know it...

Normally a hit dog will holler...

But Rush ain't hollering because even if he lost his job he still wins...

Why? Because you have no concrete evidence that he's done any of this... You have a nameless witness(strike 1) you could easily make this up...

Strike 2  Rush Supposedly yelled at his superior...  Where's the evidence? It should be on camera or have a witness of some sort... I've heard Rush yell in person on the field... You can't just ignore that shit... Loud as fuck... So surely someone heard it...

This is gonna be a field day for lawyers unless they come up with evidence...

Oh yea and then the biggest bomb has yet to be dropped...

"The hotel kicked the kids and Rush out for behavior"

"Sheriffs had to help control the kids in Atlanta after the Milton game"

So now you've dragged the kids into it...

They can sue for defamation and slander if you have no proof of this and what hurts me is if a sheriff or cops had to get involved then there has to be some form of documentation for sure of it...

And the hotel? That's the easiest one call the damn place ask for some form of Video evidence. Management or something...

Then the taxes... I'm quite sure ousting his taxes like that isn't legal in Georgia...

Idk 💯% on that one  given how ass backwards GA can be sometimes there's no telling....

You've been going on for days on this topic, defending the coach. It's apparent that whatever the accusations were going to be, you would not believe it. It's interesting that with so many different allegations, you still don't see a pattern of behavior by someone who thinks so highly of himself that he need not follow rules that most mortals follow, and can do whatever he pleases.

Yet you're sure all of it is untrue and made up in an attempt to scar an innocent, hard-working, successful man (who happened to have brought some prideful attention to Sowega football with his team's performance on the field). You can explain away every allegation, and if more were to arise, you could pick them apart one by one as well. But remember, you'd be stuck with the dude who has an issue with paying his bills (both federal and to local merchants), doesn't need to respect his superiors (does he have any superiors?), and has a history of spotty attendance at his job (I'm sure he has other, more important things going on than his responsibilities at his job).

Head-butting players or not, he'll win you some games. Is it worth it?

Yes...it was MORE than worth it.

Never said he was innocent to all of it because I do believe the tax thing... It's hard to make up owing that much money...

But some of this stuff sounds spotty...  and another thing...

Why let this shit go on for so long?

Sounds to me like they let it go on until just now because some people got tired of him...

And the BOE is using this As an excuse to give him the boot.

Since they decided to go the "gtfo" route, I think they'd have been better off to turn him over to the GPSC for the financial stuff and left the flimsy investigation and that stuff alone.

That's just me though, and since they chose that route.

Who knows what discussions have gone on in the past? Perhaps it continued because he was given more chances than most people would be given. I don't know, but do see why some would say enough is enough.

There was a witness.  The HR director was there according to published accounts.

Garnishments are public record in GA as they require a court judgement and I'm pretty sure tax liens are public record as well if you know where to look.

They may very well have let it go on until they got tired of it or the cost/benefit ratio changed to the negative.  The key fact is GA is an at will employment state.  You can be fired at any point for any reason.  Now if your company policy wasn't followed or you broke some federal or state employment statutes you might wind up in court but that takes resources to make happen.  Note that the HR director was present when Rush was told no more motel stays and he reacted poorly to that.  Note that the multiple garnishments are documented.  Employers don't like garnishments and many will tell you to go away if it becomes a pattern.  Forget the pill incident in 2012.  The trainer and three assistant coaches tagged him for multiple occurrences in 2018.  You and I both may think it silly that he can't hand out an aspirin or Aleve or what it is was or might have been but the truth is you can not do it and he knew it.  Sure there are issues with documentation provided by the BOE but I have a hard believing they don't have the docs to back it up even if they didn't disclose them at this time.

There is a huge difference in the burden of proof between criminal and civil trials. It doesn't have to be "beyond a reasonable doubt" for a tort case, only has to be more likely than not. There are two suits you can bring under defamation, libel and/or slander. Slander is when you say something that harms someone's reputation and they lose their means of making money. Libel is when you do it on the internet, newspaper or trade magazine, etc. The defense against both is the truth. So all someone has to show is that it was more likely than not that what was said, was true. Lawyers would have a field day with this and more stuff would come out.

My dad always told me, the more you stir shit...the more it stinks!

Lol, sure. We are gonna survive. I do hope they hire someone from the CRP tree of current or former assistants. Someone familiar with the system. Familier with the feeder system, nutritional program, strength and conditioning system, etc etc. but I will say that I hope the next head coach is a better person.

anyone who knows me knows that I have been straddling the fence the last couple of years. Yeah, CRP is an arrogant, egotistical, etc etc person that prolly isn’t a great role model for the youth, but he definitely had some good sides. Many people growing up in Moultrie had a chance, and actually went to college that would have never gotten out had it not been for him ever coming here.

That being said, as someone who isn’t a booster or an insider to the program, it was obvious to me that the writing was on the wall. Too many rumors and stories have been surfacing the last couple of years that had stayed hidden his first 7 or 8 years. Only reason those stories started getting aired is the community was growing more and more tired of CRP sense of entitlement.

Several of the items listed in the paper I had heard before. I knew about the garnishments, but not the full extent of the tax debt. I’m sure the tax debt would be even worse if the feds knew about unreported income from people paying his bills for him.... and the stories I’ve been told is that the bills being paid for him are hefty. One thing that stuck out to me was the 20+ days absent without calling in. I’ve missed 8 days of work sick in 20 years of working. Missed 5 days of school from K-12. Hard for my to have sympathy for him for that. Sure people get sick, but at least call your boss and let him know your not coming in, anything else is unacceptable.

Awfully big of you to post this! Thanks for being a man about it! Seriously. Most in cc are delusional and still in denial about what Rush really is. A horrible person who did a lot of damage. This isn’t to say he hasn’t done good deeds as well, but I’m not one who thinks they balance out or anything of the sort.

Reading the local “you don’t know him” and that stuff?! Meh! I don’t need to.

My Aunt was taken on 3 different dates in Salt Lake City, Utah by the nicest and most gentlemanly person she’d ever met. He opened doors, pulled out chairs, charmed her parents (and siblings).......the whole nine yards.

His name was Ted Buddy. Yes, THAT Ted Bundy.

Thought the pun would be obvious. I forget where I am sometimes. 😂
