eaglesinsider
While doing the Maryland schedules I saw that Maryland School for the Deaf is travelling down to New Direction Academy in Haines City, FL. Looks like they're a first year program at a small and new school. I was wondering if they had any hidden talent or if MSD just scheduled a patsy. MSD has won 13 deaf national championships since 2001 including the last 3. They regularly travel to California, Texas, Indiana, Alabama and Florida to play their deaf schools but none would agree to play MSD this year so it looks like they used that travel budget to schedule this game at New Direction Academy
Nolebull813
The team is not some power drawing in talent. They are just some small school trying to start up football. Florida deaf has beaten some small tiny schools from Florida every now and then and Maryland Deaf creams them every year. Unless new direction is some secret recruiting machine who will be shut down in a few years from sanctions, The Maryland deaf squad should have no problem with them at all

Nolebull813
Heard from a coach who scheduled New Direction Academy that they canceled their program before it got off the ground. MSD is gonna need to find a new punching bag.
sportsnut25
If NDA has indeed scrapped their program and MSD needs a game in Florida there are several teams seeking a variety of dates.

Who do you show open for 9/22? They have the travel budget to go to FL so I assume they'll want to play another FL team if this one fell through

One in Kissimmee and one in Haynes City. Enrollment is 5th through 12 grade. It shows 3 games scheduled. Superior Collegiate, Clearwater Academy International and MSD. Clearwater Academy is currently seeking a team to play the same day that MaxPreps shows them playing NDA so pretty safe to say that NDA is not fielding a team this season.
