A lot more than many on this board realize. And the talent is much better than many realize

I can’t speak on the academics or the field situation. But I know for a fact they have a lot of D1 talent already enrolled at USA. And they’re still growing. They have a great coach in Rush Propst. They have a great director of operations in Kenyatta Watson. The stage is set. Dusty needs to handle his end and it’ll fall into place over the next few years. Everyone else can figure out the rest, but the product on the field is going to be a lot better than folks realize.

For an overnight program, consider me very impressed with the roster, coach, uniform, and sponsors. They’re not going to go out there and beat IMG this year but they’re going to win more games than you think

Another consideration for a high school might be the subject matter educators. Who are they using as teachers?

It appears they are targeting high profile athletes, who, for whatever reason (academic eligibility?) did not play 4 years of high school football during their 4 years, and don't turn 19 until a certain time, etc. There is no question talented athletes can be assembled (perhaps a pipeline is being built to that Harvard of the South in Scooba, MS), and while uniforms and sponsors are certainly crucial for these kids, they could use some good classroom teachers, too.

This is high school, right?

I am assuming they were trying to follow AHSAA rules for an associate membership (like IMG has with FHSAA) which would open more doors for them as far as playing schools in other states or if they want to do like IMG and have a B or JV team that plays in state.

AHSAA rules are you can't turn 19 before August and only eligible for 4 years consecutive, unless you drop out and don't attend school a year or semester. 15 days of attendance constitutes a semester burned.. Based on this in AL you cant reclass (for lack of a better term) and remain eligible to play a 5th year(semester). It doesn't matter if you played or not.  You have 4 fall semesters after 8th grade to play football (unless you did not attend a semester)

Eligibility
17. When does a student become too old to participate in interscholastic athletics?  A student becomes ineligible for the current school year if he/she reaches his/her 19th birthday prior to August 1.

21. How many semesters can a student attend high school and remain eligible for participation in athletics?  Four fall semesters and four spring semesters after completing the eighth grade.

24. When is a student credited with a semester’s attendance?  When the student has attended 15 days of any semester, it is regarded as a semester’s attendance.

SO these kids that transfer to USA A , as far as AHSAA eligibility goes,  it's all about how many fall semesters they attended high school. If they attended 3 fall semesters then they have one left. If they attended 4 fall semesters of high school then they are done in Alabama regardless if they played or not those semesters.. There is no reclassifying for a 5th semester. Again this only matters if USS A is trying to follow AHSAA rules..

Good work.  Thanks brother.

CJ Dixon the Grayson QB last year who was an Illinois commit and failed to make grades is actually reclassifying and going to be a QB for USAA. If you’re under 19 before August 1st & haven’t played four years of football, there’s a loophole that allows you to reclass and play for the SFA/IMG/USA’s of the world.

This guy only played 3 years and is a senior?

Ya 5 years of HS , it’s Different than a post graduate years,

im not sure on the guidelines, but it’s something like if he’s not 19 before August  he can reclassify as a senior again

kind of like holding your kids back a year in elementary so he can develop more

its called Gray-shirting and a few PA schools were really good at that back in the 80's and 90's.  Usually held the kid back b/n 3rd and 4th or b/n 6th and 7th grades.  That's when the kids were moving to their next level Elem school or into the traditional Junior High schools we had in PA.

Because it’s February! Where’s SJB , SJR, Marrietta 2020 roster? How come these teams haven’t posted theirs yet??

The schools you mentioned are actually fucking schools that have been in “bizness” for more than 4 weeks.

the reason I asked is because I wonder how many kids are waiting to see if it actually comes to fruition.

you want a State Champion Marietta roster? I can gitchu one

100 % they will have a team, now a campus is another story but if you follow HSFB you would know that there’s been plenty of these teams in the passed that went the USA route

no reason on why they wouldn’t play week 1

Most of the schooling is from an online provider.. The blended model will have what they call educational coaches ( most of whom have teaching degrees or were teachers) who help them with the online program and curriculum but will also be heavily involved in SAT prep and clearinghouse eligibility... Same thing Eastern Christian Academy was trying to do just didn't have the funding for long term..

Their academic model is laid out here

https://theusaacademy.com/academic-excellence/

OLS™ Online

OLS™ Online- Instruction occurs via an online platform, with periodic face to face meetings as a group or as an individual. Our staff teachers and tutors are always available during our normal business hours and our virtual teachers are available from 8:00am CST until 8:00pm CST. Up to 6 credits per year: CTE Courses available for additional fees: Dual Enrollment available.
*Edgenuity NCAA Approved Curriculum

OLS™ Flex

Most instruction is delivered online, with one class per semester required to be taken on campus. Our student athletes are required to be flex students. Our staff teachers and tutors are always available during our normal business hours and our virtual teachers are available from 8:00am CST until 8:00pm CST. 4 credits per year online and 2 credits per year on campus.
*Edgenuity NCAA Approved Curriculum

OLS™ Homeschool

All classes are taken online, but we, Ultimate Student Athlete Academy (USA) Academy, become your teacher of record for the homeschool program of your choice that allows your student to be a part of our accredited institution. We have a homeschool cirriculum available also for an addtional fee. Our teachers/tutors, transcripts, and documents are available based on scheduled fees.
*USA available Curriculum Accredited

Thanks. Are you familiar with any of the kids who played football for Eastern Christian Academy, or do you know others who were close enough to have an opinion on the education the kids received? Not only what was available through the online program, but also how engaged the kids were in classes.

I know there are athletes in traditional brick and mortal high schools who don't participate much in their schooling. But for the most part, students involved in extra-curriculars (such as football) actually do better than students not involved in other things.

With schools like Eastern Christian Academy and this one, where it seems the majority of the students are (or will be) athletes, are the standardized test scores above or below average?
