And the talent is much better than many realize I can’t speak on the academics or the field situation. But I know for a fact they have a lot of D1 talent already enrolled at USA. And they’re still growing. They have a great coach in Rush Propst. They have a great director of operations in Kenyatta Watson. The stage is set. Dusty needs to handle his end and it’ll fall into place over the next few years. Everyone else can figure out the rest, but the product on the field is going to be a lot better than folks realize. For an overnight program, consider me very impressed with the roster, coach, uniform, and sponsors. They’re not going to go out there and beat IMG this year but they’re going to win more games than you think Another consideration for a high school might be the subject matter educators. Who are they using as teachers? It appears they are targeting high profile athletes, who, for whatever reason (academic eligibility?) did not play 4 years of high school football during their 4 years, and don't turn 19 until a certain time, etc. There is no question talented athletes can be assembled (perhaps a pipeline is being built to that Harvard of the South in Scooba, MS), and while uniforms and sponsors are certainly crucial for these kids, they could use some good classroom teachers, too. This is high school, right?

But they are going for a lot of reclass kids. It’s honestly their best play right now So for them to reclass they must have only played 3 years or less then. AztecPadre
24 minutes ago, CODBEARD said: I am assuming they were trying to follow AHSAA rules for an associate membership (like IMG has with FHSAA) which would open more doors for them as far as playing schools in other states or if they want to do like IMG and have a B or JV team that plays in state. AHSAA rules are you can't turn 19 before August and only eligible for 4 years consecutive, unless you drop out and don't attend school a year or semester. 15 days of attendance constitutes a semester burned.. Based on this in AL you cant reclass (for lack of a better term) and remain eligible to play a 5th year(semester). It doesn't matter if you played or not. You have 4 fall semesters after 8th grade to play football (unless you did not attend a semester) Eligibility17. When does a student become too old to participate in interscholastic athletics? A student becomes ineligible for the current school year if he/she reaches his/her 19th birthday prior to August 1. 21. How many semesters can a student attend high school and remain eligible for participation in athletics? Four fall semesters and four spring semesters after completing the eighth grade. 24. When is a student credited with a semester’s attendance? When the student has attended 15 days of any semester, it is regarded as a semester’s attendance. SO these kids that transfer to USA A , as far as AHSAA eligibility goes, it's all about how many fall semesters they attended high school. If they attended 3 fall semesters then they have one left. If they attended 4 fall semesters of high school then they are done in Alabama regardless if they played or not those semesters.. There is no reclassifying for a 5th semester. Again this only matters if USS A is trying to follow AHSAA rules.. Good work. Thanks brother.

If you’re under 19 before August 1st & haven’t played four years of football, there’s a loophole that allows you to reclass and play for the SFA/IMG/USA’s of the world. This guy only played 3 years and is a senior?

Usually held the kid back b/n 3rd and 4th or b/n 6th and 7th grades. That's when the kids were moving to their next level Elem school or into the traditional Junior High schools we had in PA. Are you familiar with any of the kids who played football for Eastern Christian Academy, or do you know others who were close enough to have an opinion on the education the kids received? Not only what was available through the online program, but also how engaged the kids were in classes. I know there are athletes in traditional brick and mortal high schools who don't participate much in their schooling. But for the most part, students involved in extra-curriculars (such as football) actually do better than students not involved in other things. With schools like Eastern Christian Academy and this one, where it seems the majority of the students are (or will be) athletes, are the standardized test scores above or below average? HooverOutlaw
Maybe at some point they may try to play in the AHSAA this would be the only reason they would follow these rules. Even with the private school multiplier they would still be a 1A.
