Here's a fun fact everyone seems to forget:  The issue for which McCabe lacked candor was leaking negative information to the media about...Hillary Clinton.

The likelihood is they couldn't get a grand jury to indict, not that DoJ didn't want to:

Exactly what the problem is. Washington D.C. voted 92.8% for Hillary and 4.1% for Trump. They just won't convict Democrats, and they just won't acquit Republicans.

Slot,

There's probably some issues with assuming that Wash DC voting in 2016 mirrors the composition of a Wash DC grand jury in 2018, but I get your basic point and I appreciate the effort (seriously), so let's, for the sake of argument, assume you are correct.  The Grand Jury was comprised of 92.8%  Clinton Democrats.

Not that it matters, but McCabe is a registered Republican -- It's his wife that ran for state office as a Democrat -- Mixed marriages happen...Andrew McCabe also leaked to the press that Hillary was under investigation during the campaign -- Hurting her election chances -- And about which the lack of candor accusations arose.

It would appear you are arguing that  the grand jury found that a registered republican who hurt Clinton's election chances was let off the hook  because the Grand Jury was 92.8% Democrat.  I mean, we could conclude that Clinton Democrats are a particularly forgiving people, but that would run contrary to pretty much everything posted here on the dark side about Clinton Democrats.  Or we could conclude  the case was particularly weak. Or we could argue that IMPOTUS is politicizing the DoJ and law enforcement because the truth isn't flattering to him, as some of us suggested at the time:

apparently, at a high level it has something to do with him telling the press, during the election, that the FBI was in fact investigating Clinton and the Clinton Foundation – Something I remember Republicans applauding at the time.  Meanwhile all we have right now are Sessions statement and McCabe’s statement.

What we do know is the President has crusaded for months against McCabe, who is a crucial corroborating witness to Trump’s attempts to stymie the F.B.I,’s investigation of his campaign ties to Russia.

If the morons leading the Justice Department really cared about their institution they would have put out the IG/McCabe report on Friday night alongside the firing.  Without a strong record to back up what Sessions did, lots of good people will doubt the integrity of the whole place and all it’s people.  This is exactly how Trump corrodes everything he touches.

Or maybe two of those things are true.

I could argue point by point with what you've said, like telling you that my mother was also a registered Democrat, who never voted Democrat the whole time I was living at home, until the day she died. She just didn't bother to change affiliations. But let's just forget all that and look at this sentence you wrote in 2018:

"What we do know is the President has crusaded for months against McCabe, who is a crucial corroborating witness to Trump’s attempts to stymie the F.B.I,’s investigation of his campaign ties to Russia."

Trump on one side and McCabe on the other. That's all the 92.8% would care about. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

And I could point out a number of logical fallacies in your post, but there's really only one sentence that matters.  I put it in bold.

While you've convinced me that that's all you personally would care about, I still believe that most American's when placed on a Grand Jury have enough respect for the institution to make seeking justice their highest priority.  The day that is no longer true, is the day America is over.

FWIW I also happen to believe the vast majority of American's have no clue who Andrew McCabe is.
