HawgGoneIt
They said he was unresponsive on the radio which, after seeing the way his car was hit in the driver side, isn't surprising. Pretty wild ride for sure. No medical reports being released yet and how NASCAR handled it all is certainly concerning as to how he may be doing. HawgGoneIt
One of my connections down there say they were very careful to keep anyone from seeing Ryan as they removed him from the car. They used the black sheet/screen to keep the fans from seeing and cleared out all cameras and media from the infield side to keep any footage off air. Not feeling super good about how this is all playing out at the moment.

HawgGoneIt
Nothing outside of announcing Hamlin the winner on NASCAR official twitter.
HawgGoneIt
On air, the commentators reported that Ryan was "helped" from the car, which sounded hopeful, but, if you go to NASCAR.com official site they word it that Ryan was "removed" from the car. I AM IRONMAN
Not a fan of the winner doing donuts after the crash. Gibbs came out and said today that they didn't know what happened at the time. Really? Not one member of his pit crew saw anything? No one from team Gibbs up above could radio down? Not buying it. They knew of the wreck, but, not how serious it was for Newman. These cats never think they'll die on the track so they really don't consider the possibility when they win. 1

Dale Sr should have retired after the 96 or 98 season. But still driven to win.

HawgGoneIt
Latest word is that he is alert and talking but still in serious condition. The reason everything was handled so carefully by NASCAR apparently was because he and his wife had announced they were separating on Thursday, and she nor the girls were present. NASCAR sent a plane for her and they didn't release any official statements until she was completely up to speed on everything. It was basically a mess that NASCAR had to figure out how to deal with on top of having an injured driver. They both tweeted an identical template tweet with only their names reversed on Thursday. 1

Yes, because we all know that you can't possibly be a good father unless you post empty gestures about car crash victims.
