Having a meeting tonight. Its all up to rush now if he is willing to bring his asking price down they'll hire him. Valdosta meeting tonight is supposed to a boosters meeting I assume they are deciding how much they are willing to pay.

Why would he even want to go to Valdosta?

After that bullshit that the BOE pulled I couldn't see why any half decent coach would want to coach at a school that is clearly under the county leadership of morons with no clue how to run a daycare much less the winningest program in the country

Plenty of reasons. One biggie, to show up Colquitt County for their idiocy. Best spot to do it from is Valdosta, the one program that has the longest history with Colquitt.

So from one school with a moron administration to a different school with morons at the county level?

Not exactly the most smart idea I've seen

He be better off going to someone like North Gwinnett or Grayson

If Rush was in his early 40s and went to a major Atlanta school he would win 15 titles or more in 20 years if not stopped by a crazy BOE.

All schools have a potentially moronic administration or BOE that is subject to change every so often. That's what these coaches and teachers in general deal with all the time. It's also why they get paid the big bucks

At schools a lot times one of 3 people want to be the star. Superintendent, Principal, or a coach. I think Colquitt had some of this.

They fired Rodemaker because he didn't win 6A last year. That was his most talented team, and couldn't get it done. This shit is cutthroat, champ. If you don't get the job done at these blue collar schools, yo ass is getting axed! (a la John Ford at Buford, Rodemaker, and Rush).

Rush's style wouldn't fly at too many Gwinnett schools. If he went anywhere in the Atlanta Metro I could see:

Buford or one of the Cobb schools taking him...

But I have a tough time seeing him at somewhere like Grayson or NG...

I wonder if Lowndes did same thing but let him "resign" to look better

If Valdosta was really serious would they not already know about Rush's appeal.

If Valdosta stays in 6A then he will never lose a state championship until he retires.

For all of his successes, it certainly isn’t a lock. I watched his in game decisions blow two straight state title games for cc.

old boy can build a program and get the yokels to buy in, literally and figuratively, but at some point he will implode because that’s what he has always done.

damn shame because it’d be fun to watch him at the next level.

I tend to agree with this to an extent. It's like he has the midas touch, but, it's only good at a location for ten years. After the second day of the eleventh year the touch is reversed and the center can't hold.

Definitely wouldn't work in Cobb, not a spiky haired pseudo guidance counselor type who blames other schools for their own on field results!

Cobb schools do love to worry about errrrbody else more than their own.

I’ve said for years that’s why no state titles. Too consumed with other coaches. Funny thing is when it was mceachern and others bringing in OOD kids the coaches didn’t say shit. When Marietta didn’t was Katy bar the door.

sadly many here have no idea the number of kids others brought in. Too dumb to want to.
