I remember when tiny ass Group 1 Bogota was the feared team with All American Pat Sullivan (UNC). They won another jambo title a few years later. Mickeybern
Congrats to SJR they deserve it they always come to do battle. Bergen?? as I said all year they have talent but are sloppy. They force the ball way to much and turn it over. Can't win the big games with lots of turnovers.
Frosty4024
Ok I'm confused. Was this Jamboree the equivalent to a State Title?

BC basketball is gonna be really good in 2 years when that sophomore class is seniors, man they got 2 very talented sophomores, but I don’t see BC replacing Matt Zona, that kid is a FREAk I look forward to how he does at Notre Dame

It’s played before the state tournament, it’s an annual Tournament with all or most of the teams in Bergen County public and private play against each other to see what team is Top Dog in the county, it’s played at Hackensack and Fairleigh Dickinson University, in my eyes it’s more Popular than state tournament, all these Jamboree games are all sell Outs, For many many years Inner city public’s have dominated the tourney but recently the privates from the suburbs have been taking home the Crown 👑 the last few years

It was '90. I was at the game. He was awesome. Then went on to hit the game sealing FT after the Chris Webber timeout to win the national title. Bogota had some good guards too. Long gone for sure. Sullivan in '90 was dominating. Not really sure what happened to the program.
NYHSFAN33
In NY, the winner of this playoff bracket for the NYC Catholic school league title will go onto represent the CHSAA in the state Federation tournament. Winners of CHSAA, Private School Winner (Long Island Lutheran), state Public School Champ, and NYC Public School Champs will all battle it out to see who comes out on top. The NYC Catholic school league(CHSAA) is one tough league to win year in and year out: https://mobile.twitter.com/lohudinsider/status/1233862222050463746 this year it is being said the NYC public school championship will be the most hotly contested. A lot of parity. Full NY state basketball brackets found here: http://www.nysbasketballbrackets.com

I think you are right, pretty sure it was Mahwah in the final in '90. Culuko and Sullivan were fun to watch. BC beat Bogota in the final the year before I believe. It's been a few years so my recall may be a little off lol.

Culuko had a great career at JMU under Lefty Driesell. I used to play pickup games with Culuko in Mahwah and Ramsey. Sweet stroke.
