Tulane has a pair of assistant coach openings on its staff with the loss of a pair of coaches last week. It will dip into the Louisiana high school ranks for one replacement.

Evangel Christian Academy head coach Byron Dawson announced Friday morning he is leaving the Shreveport school to become the Green Wave’s defensive line coach, according to the Shreveport Times.

Dawson, who turned 40 earlier this month, went 61-22 in seven years as Evangel’s head coach – including the 2016 Division I state championship – and previously served as the school’s defensive line coach.
