I did not hate Matthews - an old Kennedy Democrat.  A Tip O'Neill guy.  He would criticize Democrats at times - sometimes fiercely

Matthews sold out to the establishment. Probably tired of having to spread lies and attacking a sitting US President 24/7/365. He used to be a good journalist back in the day and remembers what ethical journalism was like. It's probably why he's leaving...he's done with it.

Matthews identified with blue collar Democrats.  If you told me he voted for Trump (secretly of course) I would not be shocked.

Something seemed off with Chris over the last several months.  I'm not sure exactly what...but he kept slurring words...and forgetting lines from his teleprompter.   Just weird for him.  I hope it's nothing medical.

I'm sure that he's fine medically. What was off is that he probably hates how MSDNC does business. He may be a democrat, but he's from the old school of actual ethical journalism. I'm guessing that isn't accepted around the studio these days. Probably why the most experienced and recognizable face on that network didn't even allow him to report from SC last week.

He was fine until several yrs ago when he seemed to veer toward partisanship and go about it mercilessly.

But the claims against him seem a little thin.  Maybe the straw was mixing up the 2 black guys.

The Left is getting hoisted on its petard.  Playing the morally-superior game is tough.

they'll just replace him with the next liberal hack to spread and fake news to the 12 people still watching MSNBC.

God Bless you.

It never gets old for you.

I swear, an image of a child at simple play comes to mind reading your same #$%$ over and over again.

Anyone else absolutely had it with women? #metoo??

I saw that and the irony.

this identity politics is moving so fast and changing everything, changing the entire way we have lived up until the present.  and there's no discussion allowed to work out the problems, to see whether the prescriptions are right, to moderate things, etc.  it's strong-arm tactics.

I remember reading when Heidegger in 1933 said that all key decisions had been made, and thus, the only thing to do was to administer them.  he appeared tired, and seemed not to want to debate things that should have been debated, fought over.  he wasn't speaking to rabble, btw, but to university professors and students.

Pretty wild that Chris gets kicked to the curb, and Joy Reid still draws a paycheck.

Every time I mistakenly change over to MSNBC and that Joy gal is on, I swear to Geezus the word "TRUMP" is always in her mouth. I really dont think they pity party about anything but Trump and "institutional racism". Amazing how so many black people on TV News Networks became scholars and millionaires with Trump in office, and all that racism the past 3 1/2 years.
