Best place to catch a game in each state. (Overall experience)

Typical offseason thread. What is the best overall experience in each state? For example, in Texas it could be Permian vs Lee at Ratliff Stadium. It could be Allen at home against a top team. Florida I would guess would have to be Miami Central vs Northwestern at Traz Powell Stadium.

what are some other examples of teams and stadium to make the best overall experience?

Florida - Miami Central vs Miami Northwestern at Traz Powell Stadium

Georgia - Lowndes vs Valdosta at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium

New Jersey - Bergen Catholic vs Don Bosco Prep at Granatell Stadium

Ohio - Massillon vs McKinley at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium

Winnersville classic without a doubt and if Valdosta gets props it'll be better than than the championship games.

Yeah I thought it would be Lowndes/Valdosta. Which atmosphere is better?

Depends on which is better but we've had years were both were 1&2 in the state and those were real showdowns. Back in the mid 2ks it was the best game every year. If you haven't been especially when Valdosta is hosting its a game a real high school football fans should see at least once. You can check out VValdosts football museum located inside the statiudm.

Bryant Stadium (Lakeland) has long been mentioned as one of the better venues in Florida. Like so many places these days, that tends to be only for the really big games now, though. It's certainly not a "nice" or modern stadium, but can have an electric atmosphere among the top handful in Florida, anyway. Other places, mostly in the South,  certainly surpass it, though.

Easily one of the best in Florida to catch a game. Problem is no rival they have has been good enough competition to make it the best.

I remember going there when Plant shut them out in the playoffs 20-0.

Is Plant still considered a Fla powerhouse?  Their record the past few years has been decent.  Just don’t hear about them on here much

War Games-

Northside WR vs Warner Robins both these teams share a stadium and it gets packed fast.

This last year they went 4-6 which was the worst season in over 15 years. And the coach bolted for a college job. Coincidentally this past year was the worst year since the coach’s first year in 2004.

They haven’t been as dominant as years past. They haven’t won state since 2011, but made the title game a few years back.

I think their best days are behind them, and they would need a coach who can attract and keep talent. Problem for them is they relied on transfers but they are at capacity so they can’t get kids by school choice anymore. And South Tampa is congested and expensive so there isn’t many areas to move to within the boundary.

For sure!!!  This one is a good one!

Easton PA v Pburg NJ at Lafayette College on Turkey Day

Parkview v Brookwood was also a good one back in the day at the Jungle.

Woodland Hills PA v PCC at the Wolverina

Glad I missed that game! haha. Worst loss I ever saw in person was 1993 against Sarasota Riverview. The Rams were preseason #1 in the country (pre-superteam era) but had suspensions and injuries and were just 7-3. They were 100% for Lakeland though in round 1 of playoffs, and smoked us 55-21.

Parkview is making strides back to what they where in the olden days. Brookwood...  Is not...

Yeah, playing Sisters of the Blind will do that.

It’s funny you say that considering, St Thomas Athletics and Aledo have nearly identical records playing against top 1,000 teams. [Via Maxpreps]

Aledo: 2003 - 2019: 270 - 41

Vs. Top 1,000: 59 - 28

Dynasty National Rank: #25

St. T. Aquinas: 2003 - 2019: 240 - 30

Vs. Top 1,000: 68 - 24

Dynasty National Rank: #15

My little “guru” (You’re going to have to earn your capital “G” back)

Since you know so much about our lovely state; I’m shocked you didn’t know that given St. Thomas Aquinas is Florida’s most prestigious and accomplished high school football program, their record against the top teams nationally fails to compare to those that reside in Texas.

Carroll (Southlake) 2003 - 2019: 255 - 39

Vs. Top 1,000: 121 - 26

Dynasty National Rank: #4

Trinity (Euless) 2003 - 2019: 227 - 42

Vs. Top 1,000: 106 - 29

Dynasty National Rank: #7

Katy 2003 - 2019: 284 - 32

Vs. Top 1,000: 99 - 18

Dynasty National Rank: #5

Lake Travis 2003 - 2019: 221 - 63

Vs. Top 1,000: 78 - 20

Dynasty National Rank: #28

Allen 2003 - 2019: 255 - 42

Vs. Top 1,000: 132 - 20

Dynasty National Rank: #3

The Texas PUBLIC schools that you “try” to put down are literally leaving your states best team behind. {Not acceptable for a “nationally relevant private school”}.

Maybe it would be in your best interest to hope S.T.A. stops scheduling teams like Piper and South Plantation and start scheduling IMG, Mater Dei and St Francis Academy 😉
