ima Joes guy but how the hell do you not have Gary nova as ur #1 on this list baffles me

Wimbush was unquestionably better. I say this with all respect for Nova but it's not worth the conversation. I laughed at having John Lewis and Steve shanley ranked higher than Brito. I even question ranking Langdon and devito ahead of Brito but I can live with it as Devito has a larger sample than Brito and Langdons' story is still in progress.

This list was clearly not based on career alone.

I disagree with this. When it's over and done you should be rated on what you did not on the stars you got or the unfulfilled potential. But all these lists are done he same way.

An old coach once told me, "it's hard to make a name for yourself but once you do, you are set in the public's mind."

Couldn't agree more.

I would have had Nova #2. 24-0 says it all for me.

I agree that he has a case for number 1 but 24-0 in yesterday's BNU is not the same as it would be today. Nova was part of an organization that monopolized SOME of the best talent north jersey, Rockland,  and Orange County had to offer. Its just my opinion that you could've took anyone of their skill guys, put them at qb and got the same 24-0.

I remember watching their jv units come in and boat race other league teams starters.

You play who is on your schedule. Back then things were different and rules and schedules were different. DSL. Pratville, Gilman, St Iggy and what I still consider Nunzios best BC team (2010) and Nova won them all. Nova #2.

Being 24-0 as a starter is an accomplishment of a team, not an individual. Could you put Nova on a shitty team play the same schedule and be 24-0?

But this is what the thread is about. I have seen most or all these qb's and I still say he was #2 and very close to #1. He was that good imo.

AGAIN I state he was very good, but for argument sake here it is.

Nova was part of the team which had at least 6 all americans on it. He himself didn't win anything for bosco. You can argue he may not have been half as good as he looked based on how he looked at Rutgers while not being a product of a juggernaut. So yes you can only play the teams on your schedule but taking that schedule into consideration and comparing it to what the qbs of today see advantage goes to nova because he had SOME OF THE BEST TALENT NORTH JERSEY, ROCKLAND, AND ORANGE COUNTY HAD to offer while still having schedules that included public schools. The other privates in NJ werr light years behind bosco as well. So I ask how hard is it to win games when you are playing schools that work with what came through the doors while you're part of an all star club team? Your whole defense was high D1 if not parade all americans. Take any decent qb on that list and you get 24-0

Obviously you do not know the history of NJ letting Bosco and BC go play OOS schools. This has been discussed on these boards to death. It's my opinion he was #2. If you disagree fine. The kid did everything asked of him and 24-0 is still 24-0 and a MNC and a #6 ranking in 2010. Pretty darn impressive in my book.

With all respect to you I know a decent amount if nj history. It wouldn't surprise me for you to know much more than I do because you have been around longer than I. My only point is 24-0 is not difficult in that era of DBP football. How many did Sims lose?

2012 was better.

The 2010 team doesn't beat that loaded BG team w anu Solomon at qb and Nathan starks at rb in Vegas.

Guaratano's senior year team (2015) would of been better too if he stayed healthy.

And let's not forget the 2014 BC team beat a top 10 Saint Edwards team. 2010 team doesn't beat them.

Would he have been 24-0 playing a NorCal schedule?

I truly don't know. I just know it was very difficult to beat a very well coached team full of All Americans and D1 players. The whole fkn defense was high D1 players and coached very well. Add that to the chip they had on their shoulders feeling as they weren't respected because they were from the north equaled bandaids and a** whippings for opponents.

Bosco was dominant. Just wanted to throw a little DLS in there for fun.

Again I disagree. I still say 2010 team was his most talented. Again differing opinions but I respect yours and not trying to change it as others do.

once again the star ledger is a joke...#2 Tanner Mcevoy.....enough said.....no problem with wimbush...but its best HS QB not recruited etc....Spencer Aukamp should be in the top 5.....also Walsh from SJR does not make the top 20?   between NJO and now Gannett owning the bergen record and turning the sports page into a joke...we have this board for in depth debate.......
