TheRealCAJ
The fourth overall pick in last month's NFL draft signed a four-year deal Wednesday that, according to the NFL's rookie salary system, is expected to be worth more than $27 million and include an $18 million signing bonus. The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a team option for a fifth year.

No NFL deal is fully guaranteed but I expect him to be solid to very good really quick.

AztecPadre
Read the same thing. I believe its up to the team on if they want to make a deal fully guaranteed. Don't think its against the rules. But dang 18 mill up front? Wow!! More power to him, He just done came up!!

Mjd33
After a few weeks I expect him to be RB 1a in jax after taking spot from ivory and gerheart. (Think Toby still there) but I expect dalvin cook to have a better career.
Cat_Scratch
All I know is that I'm happy the Jags picked Fournette. We've had one or two okay guys since Drew-Jones, but nothing like what Fournette should be. Maybe Jax has a chance to win .500 this year.
thc6795
Sounds about right. % yrs is the max I would go with him. I don't see he playing or being productive after this contract. Don't get me wrong he will be a stud for a couple of yrs. But that is it. He runs too tall. His body started breaking down in college. After 4 yrs of getting hit and getting hit hard because of how tall he runs will take its toll. Guess what I am saying is get as much as you can now and enjoy the show. Because I don't think it will last very long. As For Cook? there was a time I thought he wd have a better career then Fournette. I didn't know what a head case he is. I think he will be a problem child for most teams.
dan in daytona
Nearly all NFL contracts are " front loaded," hence the 18 million up front. With a career longevity average of 3-4 yrs. it's a must. Most baseball and basketball contracts are fully guaranteed. Tracy McGrady or was it Penny Hardaway received checks from the Orlando Magic a dozen years after leaving Central Florida.

That kat made the greatest deal ever. The Mets I think are still paying him like a million a year.

I didn't realize Saberhagen was getting 250K a year thru 2029 from the Mets as well. Nice coin for him.
