Is Calling COVID-19 The Chinese Virus Racist?

HMMMmmmmm  'assuming' or 'prejudging that this all started in China....?

What makes you think that ?

We Know it First blew up in Wuhan...

......after the Chinese Gov was complaining that their athletes were getting sick there after those 'military games'...etc.

Awful presumptive to ask some "serious racist" query....

that skyrockets over that "prejudicial" threshold...

no?

Well, it's not called the Chinese Virus.

So if you call it that then you have an ulterior motive.

And we all know what those possible motives are.

What are those, Andy?  What's the conspiratorial scuttlebutt over at the water dispenser down at the Florida unemployment office?

You don't have to play dumb, concha. You're already there.

Look at the people calling it the Chinese Virus.

Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, the right-wing loons on this board.

They all have at least one thing in common. They want less foreign people here. What better way to leverage a pandemic then to completely make-up a name that will surely gin up xenophobia against certain foreigners.

Was the Ebola virus a racist name?

The virus is actually called Ebola.

This is not called the Chinese Virus.

It is only being called that by certain people in order to gin up negative sentiment against the Chinese.

No reasonable person will dispute this.

But how's that media hype-job angle going?

🤡

All from January. Not one referring to it as the Chinese Virus.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/18/who-officials-warn-us-president-trump-against-calling-coronavirus-the-chinese-virus.html

It's not called the Chinese Virus for a reason. Those who do call it that now are doing it for obvious reasons.

I love when cocha plays dumb.

Or to  psychologically / politically distance oneself......

would be more common...

But when someone focuses on the least common....

I'll bet 'they' have an agenda too

Right Guru ?

The same people who claimed that this was no big deal and a "hype-job" are now purposefully calling it the Chinese Virus to gin up negative sentiment against the Chinese.

But somehow are incredulous that people understand the game that they're playing.

"How dare you know exactly what our intentions are and call them out publicly!?"
